Wang Beibei was not flustered at all. She stood up with a smile. “Is the great beauty Wang planning to enforce the law with violence? There are cameras everywhere here, you know. Do you really think I’m afraid of you?”

The air suddenly grew quiet. Wang Zixuan narrowed his eyes, on the verge of losing his temper. At that moment, Hao Yingjun burst out laughing, drawing both their gazes. Hao Yingjun stood up slowly and grabbed Remington’s gun barrel, pulling it down to ease the tension.

Hao Yingjun laughed, “Haha, big sister, you’re being a little rough. Haha, when we enforce the law, we always rely on virtue, right?”

Wang Zixuan withdrew and looked at Wang Beibei, ready to finish her off at any moment. There weren't many people still alive who dared to challenge him.

Hao Yingjun sat down slowly. “How about this: from now on, wherever Miss Wang goes, we’ll go with her. Touch her heart, reason with her. Until Miss Wang is willing—willing to let it go. What do you all think?”

For the first time, Wang Beibei was unsettled. She’d never met an agent so shameless, and couldn’t help but linger her gaze on Hao Yingjun.

Hao Yingjun grinned, “Miss Wang’s place is really nice. This sofa is great—should fit two people. I think we should sleep here tonight.”

He bounced twice on the sofa, cheerful as ever. Wang Zixuan and Wang Beibei both stared at Hao Yingjun, then glanced at each other. The atmosphere grew increasingly bizarre. The air was quiet, but outside, the fans’ shrieks and shouts grew louder.

“Wang Beibei, I love you! Wang Beibei, I really like you!”

Wang Beibei walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and blew a kiss to the crowd outside, driving the fans into a frenzy. Afterward, she closed the window tightly, drew the curtains, and turned on the music beside the speakers. She then picked up a special unused bottle.

Wang Beibei said coldly, “Don’t let this happen again.”

Hao Yingjun sighed, “Wang Beibei truly is the ace among foxes. That aura—extraordinary.”

Wang Zixuan replied, “Didn’t expect you to have such tricks up your sleeve.”

Hao Yingjun shrugged, “Oh, this is nothing.”

Just as he finished speaking, there was a loud bang. The whole room shook, followed by a soft thud.

Hao Yingjun commented, “An ace is an ace.”

After delivering the evidence to Dr. Bai, they headed to a restaurant beside the supermarket for a meal.

Wang Zixuan greeted, “Hey, Nicolas Lao Xie!”

Lao Xie replied, “Here to mess with me again, are you?”

Wang Zixuan grinned, “Wouldn’t dare! Just trying to be friendly.”

Lao Xie gestured for them to enter. “Come on in.”

He happened to walk in just ahead of Wang Zixuan and his companion. Turning back at the entrance, he caught a whiff of the scent wafting from them.

Lao Xie exclaimed, “Good heavens, that smell—it’s enough to sting the eyes.”

Wang Zixuan and his companion frowned and sniffed themselves. After a day of dealing with all sorts of things, they hadn’t noticed anything.

Lao Xie suggested, “Maybe you two should sit outside. Don’t disturb the customers inside. Out, out.”

Left with no choice, Wang Zixuan and his companion found a table outside. Lao Xie fanned his nose with his hand, struggling as he brought over the menu.

Wang Zixuan muttered under his breath, “Is it really that bad?”

Lao Xie handed the menu over from a distance, not daring to come any closer for fear of passing out.

Wang Zixuan ordered, “One stir-fried shredded pork with green peppers, one three-delicacies stir-fry, and eight taels of rice.”
