Chapter 8: Truly a Die-hard Fan

Upon hearing their questions, Jiang Xiaoguo quickly recounted in detail the situation she encountered at the finance site.

“Don’t worry, Xiaoguo. With your abilities, you’ll definitely find a job even better than the one at the finance site,” Duan Jiabao and Luo Yan promptly comforted her.

Sure enough, within just two days, Jiang Xiaoguo found a new opportunity.

“I have good news for you—I’m going for an interview at Youjia Wealth Management tomorrow,” Jiang Xiaoguo said happily to Duan Jiabao and Luo Yan in their dormitory.

“Really? Congratulations, Xiaoguo!” Duan Jiabao offered her congratulations, then continued, “Actually, I have some good news too. I’m getting ready to intern as an agent at Wang Kun’s entertainment company.”

“Wang Kun’s entertainment company is all set up?” Jiang Xiaoguo looked surprised. “Didn’t he say just a few days ago that he needed to find a new office building?”

“Yes! He just messaged me that the new office is ready and asked me to report there tomorrow,” Duan Jiabao replied with obvious excitement.

“That was fast!”

“Well, Wang Kun has the power of money, so of course it was quick.”

“That’s true! After all, a fortune in the billions isn’t something ordinary people can compare to,” Jiang Xiaoguo exclaimed in admiration.

Among the group, the one who contacted Wang Kun the most was Duan Jiabao.

Since meeting Wang Kun, Duan Jiabao had become his most devoted fan, and she no longer chased after other male celebrities.

In the dormitory, Liang Shuang, who sat by the window, was drawn in by their conversation.

Though it wasn’t the first time she’d heard them discuss how wealthy Wang Kun was, she hadn’t paid much attention before, as she’d been preoccupied with her relationship.

But now things were different. She had broken up with the golf player, losing her chance to marry into a wealthy family. She had to start thinking about her own future, her work and her life.

Yet, out of pride, she kept these thoughts to herself.

Just then, Duan Jiabao’s messaging app chimed. She glanced at her phone, then looked at Liang Shuang with a mix of surprise and curiosity.

“What is it, Jiabao?” Jiang Xiaoguo noticed her expression and was surprised as well. Turning her head, she glanced at Liang Shuang.

Liang Shuang, who had been quietly observing them, sensed their inexplicable looks and immediately adopted a haughty demeanor.

“What’s wrong? Why are you all staring at me?”

“Er… Liang Shuang, do you want to be a celebrity?” Duan Jiabao asked her directly.

“What do you mean, a celebrity?”

“Wang Kun just messaged me asking if you’d like to become a star. If you’re interested, you can go to his company and discuss it,” Duan Jiabao quickly explained.

Liang Shuang was taken aback for a moment, her mind racing, then she feigned indifference and said, “Alright, let’s talk then.”

A moment later, in the small group chat with Duan Jiabao, Luo Yan, and Jiang Xiaoguo, the conversation continued.

Jiang Xiaoguo: “Do you think Wang Kun might be interested in Liang?”

Luo Yan: “One is handsome and rich, the other is beautiful and just broke up—could it be any more obvious?”

Jiang Xiaoguo: “It really is another world, a world of the wealthy, beyond the imagination of ordinary people. Did Wang Kun open the entertainment company just to make it easier to date beautiful women?”

Duan Jiabao: “Enough, you two! Wang Kun isn’t as shallow as you make him out to be.”

Jiang Xiaoguo and Luo Yan looked at Duan Jiabao’s reply and exchanged helpless glances.

In their hearts, they thought, what an ultimate fan!
