Chapter 17: Spiritual Mind Power

On July 1st, Wang Kun set out early from Yian District and made his way to the Extreme Martial Arts Hall, located in the heart of Yangzhou City.

On his journey, Wang Kun happened to encounter Luo Feng, who was also heading to the Extreme Martial Arts Hall to participate in the quasi-martial artist assessment.

Even more impressive was that the headquarters of the Extreme Martial Arts Hall in Yangzhou was housed within this very estate. Only martial artists and their families were permitted free access in and out.

“Gentlemen, this is the Mingyue Estate. Please do not approach,” warned the soldiers as Wang Kun and Luo Feng slowly made their way toward the gate.

“We’re here to participate in the quasi-martial artist assessment,” Wang Kun promptly explained.

“Let me check your identification and senior trainee cards from the Martial Arts Hall,” the leading soldier requested.

After a brief inspection of their documents, the soldier’s demeanor softened. “You’re both only eighteen? To take part in the assessment at this age—you both have a bright future ahead!”

“All right, go on in,” he said. “This way, please. You’re here for the assessment, so apart from the Extreme Martial Arts Hall, you’re not permitted to wander elsewhere within the estate.”

“Understood!” Wang Kun and Luo Feng replied in unison, before entering Mingyue Estate together.

But the moment Wang Kun stepped into the estate, the system in his mind began to issue a series of notifications.

Startled for a brief moment by the system’s prompt, Wang Kun quickly composed himself and silently issued a command in his mind.

Instantly, two item slots appeared on Wang Kun’s system interface, both marked as available for extraction.

“A Psychic Force Crystal Pearl!” Wang Kun’s heart thrilled with excitement. Through the system’s detailed description, he understood that this was an item capable of awakening one’s psychic force—much like the golden sphere in Luo Feng’s sea of consciousness. As his bodily strength increased, so would his psychic power, until the crystal’s energy was fully consumed.

Moreover, based on the information provided by the system, if he fully unleashed the power of the Psychic Force Crystal Pearl, his strength could reach the level of a War God. Although this was still inferior to the psychic force Luo Feng originally awakened, for Wang Kun—who possessed only average martial talent and no psychic aptitude whatsoever—this was an extraordinary stroke of fortune.
