Chapter 12: Angel Investment
That morning, at Puling Investment.
After a period of relentless effort, Jiang Xiaoguo, determined to achieve something remarkable, finally discovered a project among many investment opportunities that she believed held great promise.
With her proposal in hand, she made her way to the office of the person in charge, Zhou Xun.
“Director Zhou!”
Zhou Xun, his face cold and proud, glanced at her indifferently. “This is the project you found?”
“Yes, Director Zhou.”
“The project is called Red Edge. Its main function is to quickly compare two different images and instantly highlight their differences.”
“The company developing this app is still in its early stages. I believe this product could have a vast market in the future…”
“These are the only details you found?”
“Yes, Director Zhou!”
“So you don’t understand the company’s business model, can’t explain the rationality of its valuation, and have no insight into the future of its sector.”
“If you really can’t find any useful new information about this project, I advise you to reject it.”
Zhou Xun spoke with marked indifference.
Standing to the side, Jiang Xiaoguo felt deeply uncomfortable.
Because this project had cost her tremendous time and effort to find and organize among the many options.
And now!
It was dismissed by Zhou Xun as utterly worthless.
Anyone would find such a blow hard to bear.
A few days later, since Jiang Xiaoguo still hadn’t found any new information about the project, she decided, disheartened, to go to the company’s office herself and personally deliver Puling’s decision to abandon the investment.
“Director Ding!”
“Oh! Miss Jiang!”
“Hello, Director Ding. I came today mainly to discuss the Red Edge project.”
“Oh, there’s no rush. Come, let me show you around first. Please, come inside.” As the founder of the Red Edge app, Director Ding was exceptionally enthusiastic.
“Miss Jiang, you have no idea how much you’ve helped us.”
“To be honest, we haven’t paid full salaries for several months now. Getting investment from Puling is a huge help for us.”
“On behalf of everyone at the company, thank you, and thank Puling as well.”
Hearing this, Jiang Xiaoguo, who had prepared her words in advance, suddenly found herself unable to speak them.
Moments later, Jiang Xiaoguo left the fledgling tech company, troubled.
In this high-tech city, there were countless startups like this one. Every day, new companies were established and others closed down for various reasons.
And now Jiang Xiaoguo had encountered one such startup, facing the dual threat of a financial and product crisis.
If this company failed to secure angel round funding from investors, the whole firm, the entire team, and the product they had poured so much time and energy into developing would all collapse.
“What should I do? Zhou Xun has made it clear he won’t invest, but if Director Ding’s company doesn’t get financial support, they won’t survive.”
While Jiang Xiaoguo was struggling with these thoughts, a name suddenly came to mind.
“That’s it—why not ask Wang Kun to invest in this company?”
“With Wang Kun’s resources, solving Director Ding’s funding problem would be effortless.”
“And based on my judgment, if Ding’s company completes the product, Wang Kun, as an investor, could make a significant profit from it.”
“Yes, that’s the plan!” Jiang Xiaoguo pondered for a moment, then immediately found Wang Kun’s contact and sent him a message.
