Chapter Thirty-Four: The Truth from Twelve Years Ago
Page (1/3)
Eighty million years after the birth of chaos and the universe.
In the most tumultuous era of the cosmos, every star region was embroiled in war. Countless perished over endless years. Amidst the galactic expanse lay a star region: a small planet spanning eighty-eight million square kilometers, called the Liheng Star Region. It had been under human rule for thousands of years. Led by the mighty Liyang Divine Sovereign, humanity subdued all other races with overwhelming force, bringing peace at last. This tranquil era lasted for several millennia.
On this day, unwelcome visitors arrived at the Liheng Star Region.
Darkness was about to descend upon Liheng; the blissful calm would soon shatter, and a tragedy would unfold upon this once peaceful world.
Boom! Boom! Boom!...
Immense power relentlessly battered the protective shield of Liheng Star Region. The sky was gloomy, clouds thick as a father’s angry face, and torrential rain poured like a mother’s sorrowful tears. Thunderous crashes shook heaven and earth, instilling terror, panic, and trembling in all things. At one moment, the star region’s shield shattered like glass. Spatial storms swept through every corner, ravenous as wolves upon lambs, slicing across the land like cleavers on a chopping block, leaving scars upon the faces of beautiful maidens. In that instant, it seemed as if the world would perish. The air was filled with the screams of women and children, and despairing cries echoed everywhere.
Some were so frightened they wet their pants. Others stood frozen, minds blank, unmoving like ancient dead trees. Some ran about wildly, as if headless flies. Some knelt in prayer. All manners of human response unfolded.
At this moment, a figure appeared in the void—a man of apparent middle age, six thousand six hundred eighty years old. With sword-like brows and star-bright eyes, his handsome face could captivate any maiden. Standing one hundred and twenty fathoms tall, clad in golden armor adorned with a dragon’s head, a two-hundred-fathom golden cloak billowing behind him, he wielded a one hundred eighty-fathom golden dragon spear. A barrier of true energy, spanning a hundred miles in diameter, surrounded him. Alone, he stood at the edge of the star region’s shield, his expression indifferent, his presence commanding and unyielding.
This was the son of the sovereign who unified this star region, the current Liheng Supreme. After consolidating power, Liyang Divine Sovereign named the star region Liheng, and upon his son’s birth, named him “Liheng,” hoping he would one day bear the region’s responsibilities. For his grandson, he chose the name “Lihao.” When Liheng came of age, Liyang Divine Sovereign entrusted him with the star region, then vanished without a trace.
Dark clouds pressed upon the city, threatening collapse; golden armor gleamed in the sunlight, scales flashing. Behind Liheng Supreme, thirty thousand miles away, gathered a force of millions. Ahead assembled several million foreign troops, shrouded in dark energy, known simply as the “Dark Demonic Tribe” from the “Dark Demonic Domain.”
They were like devils from hell, drawn to Liheng Star Region with curiosity and longing. In their domain, life proliferated endlessly within limited space. When their territory grew insufficient, they sought new realms, eventually discovering the nearest star region—Liheng. Under the command of their leader, Evil Sky Demon Sovereign, they invaded.
In the boundless universe, countless star regions exist, each divided into domains. Now, star regions waged war.
...
“Why do you disturb the peace of my star region?” Liheng Supreme demanded.
“Our Demon Sovereign has decreed: if you do not resist, we will govern this place and grant you untold prosperity. You will grow even stronger,” boasted a powerful demon general.
Who would believe such lies?
“Leave at once, and I shall let bygones be bygones. Otherwise, blame only yourselves for my wrath,” Liheng Supreme replied, unmoved.
“Don’t refuse a toast only to drink a penalty,” retorted another demon general.
“It seems there is nothing left to say. If you wish to conquer Liheng Star Region, you must step over our bodies. Who will fight me?” Liheng Supreme, truly angered.
“I’ll take you on!” A demon general, seeing Liheng Supreme’s youth, mistook him for a mere guard. Wielding a mace weighing several thousand pounds, he charged and struck downward.
Liheng Supreme sneered, gathering the laws of heaven into his spear and hurling it at the advancing demon. The spear pierced the demon’s heart in an instant, splattering blood in a dazzling arc. The demon’s soul departed before he could react. The demons were left with stunned expressions, never expecting Liheng Supreme’s power.
Behind Liheng Supreme, his followers gazed upon him with awe. Evil Sky Demon Sovereign realized only he could defeat Liheng Supreme and prepared to act.

“Enough! Taste my halberd!” Evil Sky Demon Sovereign roared, wielding a black, aura-shrouded halberd weighing ten thousand pounds, and charged at Liheng Supreme.
In the endless void, Liheng Supreme and Evil Sky Demon Sovereign launched into battle, clashing with earth-shattering force, tearing the very fabric of space.
It was a duel of ice and fire, light and darkness, life and death.
“I fight for my people’s survival,” was the demons’ wish.
“I fight to protect all beings,” was the Liheng army’s creed.
In the endless river of void, the tribes of Liheng and the demons waged a phenomenal battle of survival.
Liheng Supreme led the representatives of his races: Qilin, Divine Dragon, Vermillion Bird, Phoenix, Black Tortoise, White Tiger, Golden Roc. Evil Sky Demon Sovereign commanded: Evil Sky Wolf, Enchanting Viper, Demon Leopard, Vajra Bear, Burrowing Demon Boar, Demon Eagle, Black Ink Crow.
Each race possessed the power to destroy worlds. Their bodies, enormous, grew ever larger by absorbing the essence of heaven and earth; the greater their size, the stronger they became. Usually, they learned from humans, taking on human forms a hundred fathoms tall.
In this battle for survival, each race revealed its true form, massive bodies spanning ten thousand fathoms, the strongest even reaching ninety thousand. Humans, gathering spiritual energy through the laws of heaven and earth, transformed into towering figures known as “Divine Shadows.” Liheng Supreme’s Divine Shadow reached ninety thousand fathoms.
The demons’ millions also revealed their true forms, equally imposing.
The battle raged for more than a century...
Liheng Supreme and the Evil Sky Demon Sovereign exchanged fierce blows, their combat spreading over thousands of miles. Suddenly, a woman’s cry of pain was heard from the rear, ten thousand miles away—it was Liheng Supreme’s wife, Mo Rou, suffering in childbirth.
Hearing this, Liheng Supreme’s heart wavered, distracted. Evil Sky Demon Sovereign struck him with a halberd, sending him flying ten thousand miles. The ensuing shockwave darkened the skies, sweeping toward Liheng Supreme’s newborn child, Lihao.
A flash of golden light flickered amid the shockwave. When it dissipated, only a pool of blood remained—Lihao had vanished. Mo Rou, regaining her senses, wailed in agony.
Liheng Supreme, overwhelmed by pain, his starry eyes turned crimson. His murderous aura filled the heavens, terrifying all.
“Attack with all your might! Destroy the invaders at any cost!” Liheng Supreme howled, determined to make the demons pay a heavy price.
The battle grew even more devastating, countless warriors of Liheng Star Region perished, but ultimately, the demons were repelled at great cost.
After the war ended, hours passed. In the void outside Liheng Star Region, an elder with crane-white hair and a youthful face maintained a barrier of true energy hundreds of miles wide, holding an infant in his arms. This formidable elder was Liheng Supreme’s father, Liyang Divine Sovereign. As the demon invasion reached its climax, Liyang Divine Sovereign returned to Liheng Star Region. Approaching within one hundred thousand miles, he sensed an unusual power of the laws. He sped through the void, arriving just as his newborn grandson was critically wounded by the shockwave. Swiftly, he rescued the child and departed without informing his family. He did this for another reason: Liheng Supreme’s path had been too smooth; it was also a test for his son and daughter-in-law, hoping they would act with greater caution in the future.
...
Mo Rou, stricken by the loss of her child, grieved endlessly. After repelling the demons, Liheng Supreme was also seriously wounded by Evil Sky Demon Sovereign. He stayed silently by his wife’s side.
Three days later...
“Three days have passed, and still no news of our son?” Mo Rou asked, her voice heavy with sorrow.
“Do not grieve, Rou’er. Blessed children have their own destiny; perhaps no news is good news,” Liheng Supreme forced himself to comfort her, suspecting their child had been taken by some powerful being.

Now, Mo Rou was calmer, and finally noticed her husband’s grave injuries. She lifted her beautiful face and gave him an apologetic smile.
“Rou’er, your smile heals my wounds,” Liheng Supreme jested, hoping to lighten her mood, hiding both his physical and emotional pain.
“Husband, don’t be so glib. I’m fine,” Mo Rou knew he was trying to distract her, unwilling for her to endure constant suffering. Though still heartbroken, she laid her head on his chest.
Liheng Supreme grimaced in pain; Mo Rou regretted, “I forgot you’re injured! I’m alright, please go recuperate, I’ll guard you.”
“Rou’er,” Liheng Supreme called.
“What is it, my husband?” Mo Rou asked, puzzled.
“It’s wonderful to have you,” he replied.
“I know! In my heart, you are the best, most extraordinary man in the world—my idol,” Mo Rou comforted him, hiding her own unspeakable pain.
They were a loving couple; though wounded in body and spirit, they pretended to be strong, each wishing to ease the other’s burden.
“Brother Dragon, Brother Tiger, Brother Vermillion, Brother Black, Brother Qilin, Brother Phoenix, please do me a favor,” Liheng Supreme said.
Though supreme ruler of Liheng Star Region, Liheng Supreme was humble, earning great respect from the other races. His strength and amiable nature ensured their absolute loyalty.
“If you have something to say, speak freely,” said the Dragon Emperor. The Black Tortoise Emperor, White Tiger Emperor, Vermillion Bird Emperor, Phoenix Emperor, Golden Roc Emperor, and Qilin Emperor all echoed him.
“My son is still missing. I ask you brothers to help me search. Should you find him, I will reward you generously,” Liheng Supreme implored.
“Rest assured, brother, we will spare no effort in finding the young master,” the emperors of the beast tribes replied.
“Thank you, brothers,” Liheng Supreme said gratefully.
Though he called them brothers, their ages far exceeded his—Dragon Emperor alone was nineteen thousand five hundred years older. Yet, out of respect for his strength and modesty, they accepted his brotherly address.
“Whoever finds the young master, I will agree unconditionally to three requests within my power,” Liheng Supreme promised.
The crowd erupted with excitement, eager to find the young master and earn his favor, employing every possible method to search for Lihao.
With all arranged, Liheng Supreme went into seclusion to heal his wounds. Mo Rou gradually calmed, patiently awaiting news of her son, and her husband’s recovery...
