A brief announcement

Perhaps I am considered an author who posts announcements quite frequently (laughs).

How should I put it? Since this is my first time writing, many things end up differently from how I initially imagined them. Moreover, because of my own stubbornness, there are certain elements I strongly wish to include in my work, which inevitably adds to the difficulty of my creative process.

Recently, the plot has been advancing rather quickly. I’ve wanted to slow it down, but lacking experience, I’m uncertain how to truly control the pacing of my story. Oftentimes, it’s not simply a matter of writing whatever the author wishes—the act of writing itself gradually turns into the characters dictating the direction, compelling me to follow their lead.

For instance, if I want to introduce a side storyline in the Land of Flames, I have to consider that, of its four great lords, three are currently pursuing the protagonist. Therefore, before branching off, I must first resolve how to handle these three factions.

So, I need to carefully design the upcoming plot, striving to present a work of some depth to all of you. As a result, updates may become irregular for a while.

Additionally, there’s something else: our school is currently preparing for the sports meet. Because of my ‘exceptional brilliance’ and ‘looks rivaling those of Song Yu’… in short, I’ve been chosen for the honor guard. This means daily training, which keeps me quite busy and makes it difficult to settle down and focus on writing.

Although I’ve always believed that authors don’t need to apologize for their writing pace, I still wish to give you this advance notice as a gesture of goodwill.

I don’t want my story to fall apart midway. I want to share the ideals and beliefs in my heart with all of you, and I refuse to force the content for the sake of faster updates, as that would only increase the likelihood of an unfinished ending. For a long-form story, after all, an unsatisfactory ending is a formidable ‘boss’—many a master has stumbled here.

That’s about the situation. I hope that my few genuine readers can understand my thoughts and actions.

As long as you know I will never abandon this story, that’s enough.
