“Is that all? Shouldn’t you at least warn us about the dangers? It’s hardly worth risking everyone’s lives for this,” Su Mo interrupted impatiently after the witch’s instructions, glancing at Qiao Wei with a hint of sarcasm in her words.

“Can’t you keep your mouth shut for once? I can’t stand women like you! Stop whining—if you don’t want to go, then stay here by yourself!” Rhine’s violet eyes flashed with disdain as she glared at Su Mo, then took Qiao Wei by the hand and led her outside.

As Qiao Wei and Rhine strolled through the garden, it was a while before Qiao Wei finally spoke. “Thank you for speaking up for me.”

Rhine looked at her in surprise, then broke into a cheerful smile. “I thought you’d hate me for the rest of your life.”

“I don’t blame you or Luo Xuan.” Qiao Wei caressed the velvety petals of a rose in the garden and continued, “After all, you were just trying to break the curse. And I’m still alive and well, about to become human and go home. But I’ll never forgive Luo Chen and Su Mo.”

Rhine twirled a lock of her golden hair, speaking lazily. “Brother Chen really was disappointing this time, especially seeing that wretched Su Mo clinging to him all day, acting coy. It’s truly annoying!”

Lost in thought, Qiao Wei listened as Rhine’s tone grew more serious. “Hey, do you really want to become human again and return to your world?”

“Mmm… I’m used to an ordinary life. My family is on the other side, so yes, I want to go back.” Qiao Wei nodded, her voice unusually resolute.

Rhine, however, couldn’t help but say, “Actually, there’s much to love about being one of the vampires: strength, immortality. And since you were transformed by His Highness Luo Xuan, a pureblood, you should have a special attack skill… By the way, what’s yours?”
