The Past of Three People
Luo Chen frowned, casting a cold look at Qiao Wei as he spoke, "My business is none of your concern. You have no right to interfere."
Unwilling to give up, Qiao Wei insisted, "I just want to help you. Aren’t we friends?"
"Mind your own business. I don’t have any friends," Luo Chen replied impatiently.
"But in the cave—" Qiao Wei began, only to be interrupted by Luo Chen’s mocking tone, "You’re being sentimental. I only helped because if you died, the curse couldn’t be lifted."
Tears spilled from Qiao Wei’s eyes. Disappointed, she shouted at Luo Chen, "I must have been blind to think you were kind! You’re nothing but a selfish person who mocks others!"
With that, Qiao Wei ran into the woods.
Watching her retreating figure grow distant, Luo Chen felt a pang in his heart, uncertain as to where this feeling came from.
Qiao Wei ran into the woods, Luo Chen’s words echoing endlessly in her mind, leaving her heart aching as if a chunk had been carved out.
"Here," a pair of slender hands appeared before her, holding a tissue. Qiao Wei looked up and saw a face strikingly similar to Luo Chen’s, with crimson eyes fixed on her. It was Luo Xuan. Startled, she hurriedly stepped back.
Luo Xuan smiled softly at Qiao Wei’s frightened reaction, the blood-red eyes now devoid of their usual predatory gleam. "I suppose I really did scare you. Qiao Wei, I know you and Luo Chen are working together to break the curse, so I apologize for my past rudeness. Can you understand how a brother feels when trying to protect his only sibling? Wipe your tears, you look just like a little cat."
Qiao Wei nodded, accepting the tissue from Luo Xuan and drying her tears, though she remained wary.
Luo Xuan leaned casually against a large tree, gesturing for Qiao Wei to sit beside him. He continued with a smile, "Luo Chen drove you to tears, didn’t he?"
Qiao Wei nodded, nearly crying again. Suddenly, she realized something and asked in surprise, "You’ve been watching us?"
Luo Xuan nodded. "I just don’t want you two to be in danger. Would you like to hear a story? I promise my stories are more interesting than Luo Chen’s."
Qiao Wei was amused by Luo Xuan and nodded, ready to listen.
"A hundred years ago, Luo Chen and I both fell in love with a beautiful girl named Su Mo. She looked almost exactly like you, except her eyes were amber. Those eyes seemed able to see deep into people’s souls, drawing us both in. In the end, I won her heart first." Luo Xuan seemed lost in memories, silent for a long time, until Qiao Wei gently nudged him, bringing him back. He continued, "I thought she was an innocent girl, but later discovered she was entangled with both me and Luo Chen. When I found out, I broke up with her. Afterwards, I learned Su Mo was a descendant of angels. She wore a pendant just like yours, filled her room with wooden ornaments, and acted strangely. After observing her for several days, I realized she intended to kill us. When she failed to assassinate me, I killed her... Ever since, Luo Chen has hated me. No matter how I explained that Su Mo tried to kill me, he always believed I was lying..."
"How do I know you’re not lying to me?" Qiao Wei asked.
"Why would I lie to you?" Luo Xuan replied with a bitter smile.
"I believe you," Qiao Wei said, gazing at Luo Xuan. The two exchanged a knowing smile.

Recently, reading volume has been low... Yu Ning is feeling down... timidly asking for flowers, diamonds, bookmarks, and maybe some pocket money~
P.S.: There’s a torrential rain at Yu Ning’s school, the water is up past the knees. If Yu Ning doesn’t update in the next couple of days... it probably means Yu Ning has been swept away by the flood...
