Chapter 88: A Bite (Add to your bookshelf so you won't lose track of the book)

Lan Juan and the others finally felt at ease watching Baozi being dragged out like a dead dog. The Star Whisper Bar was still a place they could enjoy themselves!

Lin Lin stood in the center once again and loudly announced that all of Lan Juan’s expenses for the evening would be covered, and everyone else would receive two bottles of beer each. A cheer erupted from the crowd, and the party carried on.

Though Lin Lin wasn’t the owner, she did have the authority to offer a few free orders—one of the bar’s strategies for retaining customers. Typically, if someone suffered a loss in a conflict or if one side was simply a customer the bar couldn’t afford to offend, they’d waive the bill to smooth things over.

Lan Juan had been harassed; though the perpetrator received his just punishment, the one who suffered was still the woman. So, waiving her bill was the usual practice.

The trouble had finally passed without affecting the bar. Spirits were high, and, as promised, everyone headed to a private room to drink together.

That night, everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Lin Lin and Tian Li didn’t return to Jinhai Huayuan with Hua Tianyu until very late.

The next morning, Hua Tianyu, as always, completed his morning workout and then drove to Wei Xueying’s villa.

Last night, Shu Yue must have stayed up chatting with Wei Xueying and hadn’t gone home, spending the night at Wei Xueying’s place.

When Hua Tianyu arrived, the two women came out of the villa together and got into the car.

“Oh? Hua Tianyu, it’s you! How did you end up as Xueying’s driver?” Shu Yue had no idea he was working as a driver, so when she got in and saw him behind the wheel, she was quite surprised.

“Aren’t you the head of security?”

“Head of security is just a side job. My main duty is being the driver,” Hua Tianyu replied with a smile.

Wei Xueying rolled her eyes at him, while Shu Yue’s eyes curved into crescents.

“Xueying, have Hua Tianyu take us to get some breakfast. I can’t go without eating in the morning.” Compared to Wei Xueying’s habit of skipping breakfast, Shu Yue lived a much healthier lifestyle.

She ate three meals a day on schedule, worked out every week, and never neglected her studies.

Wei Xueying, on the other hand, rarely ate on time and hardly ever exercised.

Hua Tianyu couldn’t understand how, with such different habits, both women kept such good figures—almost identical, in fact.

It defied all logic!

Shu Yue spoke without a second thought, but Wei Xueying took it to heart. Lately, the word “breakfast” had become particularly sensitive in Wei Xueying’s ears. When Shu Yue brought it up again, she instantly recalled her embarrassing incident from a few days ago, and her cheeks flushed red.

Hua Tianyu noticed Wei Xueying’s discomfort in the rearview mirror. Guessing the reason, he paused for a moment before saying, “Xueying, you’re so hungry your face is turning red.”

Wei Xueying fell silent.

Shu Yue, noting the unusual blush on Wei Xueying’s face, glanced suspiciously at Hua Tianyu. “Hua Tianyu, did you do something to Xueying?”

“Innocent! You’ve been together since you got in the car. If I did anything, wouldn’t you have seen it?” Hua Tianyu replied.

Shu Yue thought for a moment—true, she’d been with Wei Xueying the whole time and hadn’t seen Hua Tianyu do anything inappropriate.

Still, Wei Xueying’s face was awfully red. It reminded her of that time at home, when Hua Tianyu accidentally saw her wrapped only in a towel…

Shu Yue’s cheeks suddenly flushed as well.

She was a bit confused—did Hua Tianyu see Wei Xueying in a similar state?

From the rearview mirror, Hua Tianyu saw both women’s faces turning a radiant shade of red. Their shy expressions were truly beautiful.

But why did Shu Yue blush too? Hua Tianyu wondered, bemused.

“Shu Yue, I got your breakfast!” Hua Tianyu took out a breakfast set from the seat beside him and handed it to Shu Yue. “No need to thank me—just doing my civic duty.”

Shu Yue was stunned for a moment, then delighted. “Oh, you already got it! How thoughtful!”

Hua Tianyu smiled, nodding at the praise. He then took out another set. “Shu Yue, I didn’t know you’d be here, so I only bought two. Xueying, this one’s for you.”

He took a bite and handed it to Wei Xueying. “If I remember right, this one isn’t spicy.”

Wei Xueying was speechless.

You actually took a bite before giving it to me…

Shu Yue was stunned as well. When she had heard that Hua Tianyu bought two sets, she’d taken a bite of hers. Now, there were two breakfasts in the car, both with a bite taken out of them—one by her, one by Hua Tianyu.

“I don’t want it!” Wei Xueying huffed, pushing the breakfast back to Hua Tianyu and wishing she could give him a good kick.

This Hua Tianyu never has his mind on proper things!

“What? You don’t want the non-spicy one? Then here’s the spicy one for you!” Like a magician, Hua Tianyu took out a third breakfast, beaming as he handed it over—this time, without taking a bite first.

“I’m not eating!” Wei Xueying exclaimed, refusing to take the breakfast.

“You won’t eat? I told you last time about the dangers of skipping breakfast. It’ll make your…,” Hua Tianyu paused deliberately before uttering the word “figure.”

“Shut up!” Wei Xueying snatched the breakfast from his hand and shouted at his back.

This Hua Tianyu really—

Wei Xueying was so angry she could feel a twinge in her chest!

Yet, as she took the first bite, a strange feeling crept into her heart.

Maybe she really should change her habit of skipping breakfast.

“Hua Tianyu, didn’t you say you only bought two breakfasts? How come there are three? How did you know there would be three of us?” Shu Yue had figured it out—Hua Tianyu had intentionally taken a bite out of that breakfast.

Because he’d actually prepared three.

But she was curious—how did Hua Tianyu know to buy three?

Driving, Hua Tianyu paused for a moment. “Buy two, get one free. Ever heard of it?”

Shu Yue was speechless.

Wei Xueying, likewise.

Shu Yue grinned slyly. “Which breakfast shop? I want to buy two now and see if they’ll really give me one for free.”

“Alas!” Hua Tianyu sighed, pausing again. “Limited quantities—come early tomorrow!”

Shu Yue fell silent.

Wei Xueying as well.

In the rearview mirror, seeing the two beauties rendered speechless, Hua Tianyu’s lips curled into a mysterious smile.

As if he’d tell them that last night, after returning to Jinhai Huayuan, he rang Shu Yue’s doorbell.

Or that this morning, before leaving, he rang it again.

By the time they reached the entrance of Swan International Group, all three had finished breakfast. Shu Yue suddenly remembered something.
