Chapter 142: Liang Hui's Boyfriend
Seeing everyone in the office lower their heads again to resume work, Liang Hui felt her flustered heart gradually calm down.
These fellows really knew how to push their luck the moment you gave them an inch!
Liang Hui heavily slammed the bouquet down on the edge of her desk, and in her carelessness, she knocked a banana—part of the midday fruit distribution—onto the floor.
Just as she was about to bend down to pick it up, she saw a figure move faster than her and retrieve the banana.
It was Hua Tianyu.
Liang Hui was about to say thank you when she suddenly heard Hua Tianyu ask in an extremely faint voice, "Manager Liang, since when did Xueying become your boyfriend?"
Liang Hui froze, and immediately understood what Hua Tianyu was talking about.
Earlier, when she went to Wei Xueying's office to report on work, Cui Quan happened to deliver an express package to President Wei, which was precisely this bouquet of Winnie the Pooh bears.
President Wei had merely glanced at it and set it aside directly.
When she finished reporting, President Wei called her back and told her to take the bouquet away.
As for how to deal with it—whether to throw it away or give it to someone—President Wei said she wouldn't interfere.
Originally, she had brought it back intending to give a small bear to every single girl in the office.
Upon returning to the office, however, she found a group of people crowding around to look at the gift Hua Tianyu had given to Wang Hong, and an inexplicable anger had flared up inside her.
Then, she had no idea why she had impulsively pretended that this bouquet was a gift from someone else.
Next, when Zhong Xiaoyan asked if a boyfriend had sent the flowers, and she saw Hua Tianyu staring at the flowers in her hands, she had inexplicably blurted out an "mm-hmm."
The problem was, though, how on earth did Hua Tianyu know about all this?
Could this bouquet have been sent to President Wei by Hua Tianyu?
No, she had glanced at the card tucked in the flowers while in the elevator; it was from Lu Siyuan, and had nothing to do with Hua Tianyu at all!
Then how on earth did Hua Tianyu know? Try as she might, Liang Hui couldn't figure it out!
However, looking at Hua Tianyu's beaming, smiling eyes, Liang Hui grew furious. She was determined to die before admitting that this was just something President Wei had casually tossed aside and given to her.
"My boyfriend is not President Wei!" Liang Hui glared at Hua Tianyu and said.
"Not President Wei?"
Hua Tianyu paused for two seconds, handed the banana he had just picked up back to Liang Hui, and asked with a thoughtful look, "Do bananas send you flowers now?"
Liang Hui: "..."
"Hua Tianyu, I never want to see you in the Human Resources Department again! Get out!" Liang Hui roared.
None of the people in the office knew what had transpired between the two of them again, only that Manager Liang had suddenly lost her temper once more, and this time the fire burned even more fiercely than before!
They had naively thought that once Manager Liang got a boyfriend, nourished by the waters of love, she would cure her habit of flying into a rage. Who would have thought that Manager Liang's romance wasn't water—it was gasoline!
Forget it, forget it. She was too much to handle!
Hua Tianyu hadn't planned on staying anyway. He waved at Wang Hong as a form of goodbye, and Wang Hong playfully stuck out her tongue in response.
Having said goodbye to Wang Hong, Hua Tianyu took his time getting into the elevator and returned to the security department. He needed to prepare a gift for Wei Xueying.
Judging from the intelligence previously gathered from Jiang Liliang, the organization known as the Netherworld Temple had set its sights on Swan Corporation. Although Hua Tianyu had no intelligence regarding this Netherworld Temple, to be able to make one of the top underground forces in Shangjiang City willingly do their bidding meant there had to be a formidable power backing them up.
Hua Tianyu could remain utterly unfazed by the Netherworld Temple, but Wei Xueying, as the president of Swan Corporation and an ordinary person, was still vulnerable to their schemes. Therefore, Hua Tianyu needed to prepare something for her.
Stepping out of the elevator, Hua Tianyu found Cui Quan and motioned for him to follow him into the security office.
Because many security guards had recently been fired and new ones had not yet been recruited, there were currently no idle security guards inside the office.
"Cui Quan, I need no one to disturb me for the next half hour. I will be staying in the lounge next door. Guard the door for me and do not let a single person in! Can you do that?" Hua Tianyu asked.
"Half an hour? No problem!" Cui Quan nodded and said, "Even if it's half a year, I'll guard it for you!"
Hua Tianyu nodded, stepped into the lounge, and said no more. Some trust did not need to be expressed through too many words.
Closing the door, Hua Tianyu gathered his breath and focused his mind. Crossing his legs, he gradually entered a state of selflessness, and a vast, boundless surge of power within his body began to slowly circulate around him.
If anyone had been standing nearby at this moment, they would have seen the light around Hua Tianyu's body undergoing a very strange transformation.
The light first turned into a nearly transparent blue-white hue, gradually converging upon his body, and then, taking his heart as the center point, began to radiate outward once more.
This radiation was not intense, but continuous and warm, and the light constantly shifted at a slow pace, eventually forming four points of light that began to revolve slowly around Hua Tianyu.
At this moment, Hua Tianyu resembled a brilliant star, while those points of light acted like planets orbiting along a track, controlled by a mysterious and vast force, guarding Hua Tianyu from all sides.
Suddenly, one of the points of light flickered uncertainly between bright and dim. Hua Tianyu's brows twitched, and he let out a muffled groan, clearly enduring a measure of pain.
Following the muffled groan, a tiny point of light slowly detached from the flickering light source. As if supported by a gentle force, it drifted slowly down toward the palm of Hua Tianyu's hand.
Meanwhile, the radiance centered around Hua Tianyu's heart began to pour frantically into this point of light. The light spot began to grow larger and denser, emitting a faint, deep glow.
The lower the point of light fell, the more radiance it absorbed. Eventually, when it grew to the size of a fist, it stopped expanding and began to materialize.
During the materialization process, perhaps due to the enormous expenditure of energy, Hua Tianyu's complexion grew slightly pale.
When the point of light completely materialized into a white, fist-shaped object, the four surrounding points of light slowly dissipated. Once again, searing light began to burst forth from Hua Tianyu's heart, rushing entirely toward the white fist-shaped object and wrapping around it in the blink of an eye.
Then, the muffled sound of thunder could be faintly heard rumbling from within the radiance. At this point, Hua Tianyu finally opened his eyes, staring fixedly at the light before him.
The light spun at extreme speed, driving the fist-shaped object inside to rotate at high velocity. From the outside, the light gradually shrank, the fist-shaped object also gradually shrank, and its color began to change.
In the end, all the light merged into the fist-shaped object, compressing the entire object down to the size of a fingernail in the shape of a heart, while its color transformed into a deep, profound azure blue.
"Clack!" With a barely audible sound, the heart-shaped object finally drifted gently down to land in the palm of Hua Tianyu's hand.
