Chapter 132: Coerced Confession from Green-Hair
"So, the truth is that Cheng Feng untied that thief, let him knock him unconscious, and then pretended that the thief had escaped on his own."
"He and that thief were in cahoots the whole time!"
With those words, Hua Tianyu tossed Cheng Feng back onto the floor, purely because he found him repulsive.
His statement silenced the noisy conference room instantly. Many people began to look at Cheng Feng with eyes full of contempt. As a former security manager, to collude with outsiders and steal from his own company? That had crossed the bottom line for everyone there.
"The extortion gang that came today was also brought in by this turncoat, Cheng Feng!"
Before everyone had even finished digesting the information from the previous revelation, Hua Tianyu dropped another bombshell.
"What? This group today has something to do with him too?"
"Hua Tianyu, do you have proof?" Wei Xueying was also shaken by his words. If what he said was true, then Cheng Feng was truly unforgivable.
"Yes, what proof do you have?" Cheng Feng, whose face had already turned deathly pale, truly could not believe that he had left any evidence behind for Hua Tianyu to find regarding this matter.
Hua Tianyu did not answer them. Instead, he reached out and plucked a small, black, circular object from Cheng Feng’s person—the very one he had attached that morning.
"A Black Elf!" Wei Xueying immediately recognized the device, the same kind that had been placed in Shu Yue’s changing room.
Hua Tianyu then pulled out his phone, tapped it a few times, and the speaker began to play a recording of a phone call Cheng Feng had made earlier.
A few minutes later, Cheng Feng lay completely collapsed on the floor like a dead dog.
"I never imagined Cheng Feng would be such a double-crossing rat!"
"Serves him right to be fired! Ugh, pathetic!"
The security guards who were allowed to stay began to curse at Cheng Feng, while the others who were fired had nothing left to say. Heaven knows what kind of ruined reputation would await them if they, like Cheng Feng, were foolish enough to jump into the fray.
"Sister Liang, please notify the legal department. Based on the actions of our former security manager, Cheng Feng, in betraying the company, have them pursue his legal liability and seek full restitution for his entire year’s worth of salary and bonuses!"
Unlike the others who were simply hurling insults, Wei Xueying spoke with a cold, expressionless face. With just a few words, she effectively cast Cheng Feng into the abyss.
"Understood, President Wei! I will handle it immediately!" Liang Hui cast a look of utter disgust at Cheng Feng before agreeing.
"The rest of you who are being processed, come with me to the Human Resources department!" Seeing that many of the fired guards were still lingering in the conference room, Liang Hui issued a direct order.
Amidst a chorus of sighs and laments, the twenty or thirty security guards could only follow Liang Hui out of the room in silence. Cheng Feng was hauled away as well. From this moment on, not only would he have no ties to the Swan Group, but he would also be plunged into an endless nightmare of lawsuits.
Seeing that everyone who needed to leave had gone, Hua Tianyu shifted his gaze back to the thugs on the floor.
Wei Xueying’s eyes were also fixed on the gang, her mood clearly still unsettled by the preceding series of events.
"What do we do with these thugs? We beat them up, and if the Shangjiang City police arrive, it’s going to cause trouble for us!"
The usually self-assured "Iceberg President" was now flustered, her mind in such disarray that she couldn't think of a solution, and she found herself involuntarily turning to Hua Tianyu for help.
"Don't worry, that’s not an issue. I’ll handle it in a moment. What matters now is asking these guys who is pulling the strings behind the scenes. That Cheng Feng was just a minor side character."
Hua Tianyu had his own way of dealing with Wei Xueying's concerns, but right now, he was more interested in the mastermind.
"Brother Tian, let me handle the questioning!" Cui Quan volunteered and walked over to the Green-Haired Thug.
The man was still howling, though his voice had weakened significantly. Seeing Hua Tianyu speak and watching Cui Quan approach, he understood exactly what was coming. Having spent so long on the streets, how could he let Cui Quan get any information out of him so easily?
As soon as Cui Quan stood before him, the thug closed his eyes and pretended to be unconscious. However, the twitching of his eyelids—a result of Hua Tianyu's brutal strike earlier—betrayed the fact that he was very much awake.
Cui Quan was no longer the man he had been a month ago; following Hua Tianyu, he had learned a thing or two.
Seeing the thug playing dead with his eyes shut, he aimed straight for the man’s stomach and delivered two sharp kicks. "Thud!" "Thud!"
To his surprise, Cui Quan’s strength was not quite enough. Although the kicks caused the man immense pain, he gritted his teeth and endured it, refusing to open his eyes.
Cui Quan frowned. He didn't dare kick the man in the head, fearing that if he actually knocked him unconscious, the interrogation would be a lost cause. It was clear that this group of thugs followed the Green-Haired Thug’s lead; he was likely the only one who knew who was behind this.
"Thud!" "Thud!" Two more kicks landed, but the man still didn't open his eyes.
Hua Tianyu watched from the side, his brow furrowed. It seemed this guy was a seasoned veteran of the streets, not someone Cui Quan could easily handle. The police would be arriving soon; if he didn't deal with this guy quickly, it would be much harder to get the answers he wanted later.
Hua Tianyu reached into his pocket and pulled out three two-inch-long needles, thin as ox hair.
Wei Xueying watched his movements, stunned. She didn't understand how a few thin needles could succeed where Cui Quan’s kicks had failed.
"I know a little trick that can make a person’s senses incredibly acute," Hua Tianyu said, casually picking up the needles, which shimmered with a chilling, unsettling light.
"After using this, even the bite of a tiny ant will cause excruciating pain."
Hua Tianyu flashed a bright smile, though in Wei Xueying’s eyes, it was a smile that sent a shiver down her spine.
Hua Tianyu flicked his hand, and with a barely visible flash of silver, the three needles disappeared into several acupuncture points on the Green-Haired Thug’s body.
The man immediately felt his body tremble uncontrollably, as if he no longer had command over his own limbs. At the same time, he felt his skin becoming hypersensitive to the slightest fluctuation in the air—he could even feel the vibrations caused by a fly buzzing nearby.
Furthermore, the pain that Hua Tianyu and Cui Quan had inflicted upon him began to amplify, magnifying a hundredfold.
The Green-Haired Thug suddenly realized he was in deep trouble.
