Chapter 114: Take Him Down (Added to Bookshelf to Avoid Losing Track)
Qiu Jinghao recognized the source of the car and also identified Hua Tianyu’s identity. There was no way he would let Hua Tianyu enjoy any comfort.
So, he immediately spoke up to expose Hua Tianyu’s role as the president’s driver.
He felt that directly confronting Hua Tianyu with his two bodyguards might not be effective. But tripping him up behind the scenes, playing dirty—it was something he was more than willing to do.
As for who Jia Wenle was and why he was there with the car, that was none of his business.
They were just here to watch the race and find some excitement. Now, Qiu Jinghao wanted to see Hua Tianyu humiliated. Of course, if he could take the opportunity to get rid of him, that would be even better.
Get rid of him?
Suddenly, a bright idea flashed through Qiu Jinghao’s mind.
A brilliant plan!
How to get rid of him? Qiu Jinghao looked at Jia Wenle in front of him and began turning the wheels in his mind.
Jia Wenle had just mentioned the Car Racing Club, only to be immediately shut down by Qiu Jinghao. His face flushed red but he dared not retort.
The Car Racing Club, which he was so proud of, was nothing but a fart in the eyes of the young master of the Qiu Group.
Jia Wenle thought it best to change the subject to avoid further embarrassment. “Young Master Qiu, the guy driving the Mercedes below is actually racing today. When he first showed up in that big Benz, we were all a bit intimidated. But then, someone recognized him—it turns out he’s just a driver! Isn’t that hilarious?”
Qiu Jinghao’s lips curled into a faint, ambiguous smile. “That’s because I recognized him.”
“Ah! I thought so too! It’s thanks to your sharp eyes, Young Master Qiu! This guy almost fooled everyone here. We owe you one!” Jia Wenle quickly added a flattering remark.
Qiu Jinghao nodded noncommittally, still scheming how to take down Hua Tianyu.
“Being exposed by Young Master Qiu is already his luck. There are so many people in Shangjiang City who would kill to catch a glimpse of you, yet they can’t,” Jia Wenle continued to flatter.
“Really?” Qiu Jinghao’s interest was piqued.
“Of course. Young Master Qiu, later I can bring our Car Racing Club boss, Che Peiqing, over to meet you. He’s admired you for a long time.”
Jia Wenle’s words were half-truth, half-flattery. Che Peiqing had never expressed such admiration, but if Qiu Jinghao of the Qiu Group—the unicorn corporation of Shangjiang City—were introduced to him, Che Peiqing would certainly be pleasantly surprised.
That would elevate Jia Wenle’s standing in the Car Racing Club considerably. Perhaps he could leverage Qiu Jinghao’s name to secure a vice president position or something similar.
“Oh.” Qiu Jinghao responded casually, then unexpectedly wore a very friendly smile. “No rush to bring your boss over. We can meet after the race. Right now, I have a favor to ask you—how about that?”
Then, with a hint of concern on his face, he patted Jia Wenle’s shoulder. “It might be a bit difficult, but I trust you. Do you think you can handle it?”
Jia Wenle was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed. He thought to himself: If Young Master Qiu is asking me for a favor, that means I might finally be on equal footing with him.
Even if not equal, helping him today could earn me face. If I ever need something in the future, he’d have to show me some respect.
With this favor from Young Master Qiu, my position as vice president of the Car Racing Club might just be secured.
“You can count on me, Young Master Qiu! I’ll do whatever it takes!” Jia Wenle eagerly agreed, not even asking what the favor was for fear of missing the opportunity.
“No need to go through fire or water.” Qiu Jinghao smiled again when Jia Wenle accepted.
“If you help me get this done, I’ll reward you with fifty thousand yuan!” Qiu Jinghao added an extra incentive.
Fifty thousand was nothing to him, but if he could use that small sum to take out Wei Xueying—the bodyguard with some real skill—it would be a worthwhile investment.
“Thank you, Young Master Qiu!” Jia Wenle’s eyes sparkled at the thought of the reward.
Done! He would do whatever it took!
“Come here. Here’s the plan…” Qiu Jinghao beckoned Jia Wenle closer and began to quietly lay out his scheme.
When Jia Wenle returned to Che Peiqing, the two junior members had already explained the odds and the situation to everyone.
No surprise: Hua Tianyu’s odds were ten times higher than Che Peiqing’s. The Jiyun Bookmaker’s Club was extremely pessimistic about Hua Tianyu.
Just as Che Peiqing’s men placed a small bet of several thousand, Jia Wenle pulled him aside.
“Boss, I want to enter the race too. Tian Li is my woman—I want to win her back with my own hands! And I want to make that idiot look like a fool!” Jia Wenle told Che Peiqing.
“You?” Che Peiqing was a bit surprised but then understood.
Everyone knew Jia Wenle was pursuing Tian Li. It was no secret within the Car Racing Club.
With Tian Li gone, the biggest disgrace fell on Che Peiqing as the club’s leader, but next in line was Jia Wenle himself.
Looking at Jia Wenle’s bike—a Yamaha 900cc, powerful enough to easily crush a 600cc Jialing—his machine was only slightly inferior to Che Peiqing’s.
Besides, the opponent was just a mere driver. Winning against him wasn’t something to brag about.
But if one of his men could beat him, that would be a different matter.
With this thought, Che Peiqing readily agreed. “Alright! No problem!”
Just as he was about to summon the bookmaker’s staff, he saw Hua Tianyu and two others approaching. Che Peiqing decided to greet them.
“I’m Che Peiqing, president of the Car Racing Club. You must be Tian Li’s boyfriend, right?” Che Peiqing introduced himself simply and extended his right hand.
Hua Tianyu smiled faintly. Since Che Peiqing said nothing offensive, he didn’t respond harshly.
“My name is Hua Tianyu, Tian Li’s boyfriend.” He paused, then glanced around before adding, “Yes, as you said, I’m just a president’s driver.”
He then extended his right hand and lightly shook Che Peiqing’s.
“Hah! A driver indeed!” Jia Wenle sneered contemptuously from the side.
He had doubted Qiu Jinghao’s information at first, but now that Hua Tianyu had admitted it himself, the driver identity was confirmed without a doubt.
Moreover, with the task Qiu Jinghao entrusted to him, Jia Wenle felt even more confident.
After all, dealing with a driver was entirely different from confronting a wealthy heir.
Taking on a driver meant no worries about complications later, whereas dealing with a rich second generation could bring a host of problems.
Though he was helping Young Master Qiu, Jia Wenle preferred fewer troubles for himself—what harm was there in that?
