Chapter 103: Who Is the True Power?
“Five seconds. Stand up.”
Qin Mu’s words sent a chill through everyone present.
Previously, they had been recklessly haggling, with Xie Tingting even willing to buy out White Emperor City for a billion yuan.
Yet Qin Mu had remained silent.
But just as Xie Tingting was about to claim the main seat, Qin Mu finally spoke.
His voice was icy cold, piercing like a blade, chilling everyone to the bone.
“Sitting, so what?”
Xie Tingting was momentarily frozen by Qin Mu’s imposing presence.
Yet her innate pride, bolstered by the confidence of being the legitimate daughter of the Xie family, forced her to lift her chin and retort defiantly.
“Stand up!”
Qin Mu did not respond at first, but then his voice thundered like a bell, sharp and terrifying, demanding once more.
“W-why?” Xie Tingting, facing Qin Mu, dared not raise her head, clenching her teeth as she struggled to utter the words.
“Because you’re not worthy!”
Boom!
Deafening!
Those six words crushed Xie Tingting into submission, forcing her to rise unsteadily. Her frail legs nearly buckled, almost dropping her to her knees.
She had never witnessed such overwhelming authority!
Even her brother, Xie Donglin, who had taken office in his thirties as a deputy with unrivaled prestige, could not compare to the indomitable aura emanating from this young man before her.
Once the oppressive atmosphere dissipated, everyone gasped sharply, nearly suffocating from the tension.
It was terrifying!
Beside her, Xu Feng was also overwhelmed by Qin Mu’s aura, nearly driven to act.
Only when Xie Tingting rose and stepped away from the main seat did Qin Mu’s overwhelming presence slowly fade.
He stood by the door, his bright eyes cold and sharp as ice.
In his eyes, that seat rightfully belonged only to his mother—the true owner of White Emperor City.
“Since there’s no more trouble, let’s sign the contract. The sooner it’s done, the sooner White Emperor City can move forward with construction.”
The analyst, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, trembled as he handed the contract to Qin Mu.
Although Qin Mu had displayed a terrifying presence, the task given by Xie Donglin still had to be completed, no matter how much they gritted their teeth.
Xie Tingting glared fiercely at Qin Mu.
Now that she had regained her composure and retreated to her original seat, she no longer dared to claim the main one.
But once Qin Mu signed the contract, White Emperor City would essentially belong to her Xie family.
At that point, how could Qin Mu still have the right to boss her around and feign authority?
“Who told you I’m going to sign?”
Qin Mu refused to take the contract and countered coldly.
“Not signing? This is such a lucrative deal—what reason would you have not to?”
Zhang Zizhe puffed out his chest defiantly.
Qin Mu looked at these people, who seemed to take everything for granted, and found it quietly amusing.
“White Emperor City is worth five billion. You lot want to buy ninety percent of the shares for just one billion?”
“Moreover, the follow-up publicity and development will require me to pay in full.”
“Where’s the bargain in that?”
Qin Mu sneered, shaking his head. Did these people think he was a fool?
“So you mean you have no intention of signing this contract?”
Xie Tingting’s voice turned cold and sinister.
Next to her, Xu Feng stepped forward, his knuckles cracking ominously.
Today’s meeting was originally a mere show for the outside world.
Afterward, through connections, they planned to confront Qin Mu, the true owner of White Emperor City, and coerce him into submission.
Unexpectedly, Qin Mu had come to them on a silver platter, saving Xu Feng the trouble of chasing him down.
“Let me give you some advice: sign quickly and decisively, so as not to ruin everyone’s harmony.”
“Looks like you’re ready to confess under pressure?”
Qin Mu narrowed his eyes.
“Exactly.”
Xu Feng did not hide his intentions, bluntly stating his resolve.
“Is this also that bastard Xie Donglin’s order?”
“How dare you!”
Xu Feng’s brows knit fiercely, and suddenly his stance shifted violently.
A palm strike came crashing down!
The air itself warped where Xu Feng’s palm passed.
But Qin Mu remained unmoved; a slight turn of his eye revealed the poison embedded in Xu Feng’s hand.
The strike was aimed straight at Qin Mu’s temple.
If it landed, the poison would invade his body—death or crippling injury was certain.
Yet just as the blow was about to connect, a loud bang echoed from outside.
The locked door was kicked open, revealing a figure in the doorway.
Boom!
Xu Feng reacted swiftly, retreating just in time.
But he was still a moment too late—he was kicked out by the newcomer and slammed into the wall beside him.
“Who dares to lay a hand on my Xie family? Do they want to die?”
Xie Tingting rose in fury, wanting to see who was so reckless.
But once she recognized the newcomer, she froze.
It was none other than Luo Song, a military man under Fu Yantu’s command.
“Late arrival,” Luo Song said, turning to face Qin Mu.
He hesitated briefly, unsure whether to salute or bow.
After hearing Qin Mu’s response, Luo Song immediately reported to his direct superior, Liu Qiye.
The reply was only four words: “He is a general.”
Those words stunned Luo Song for a long moment.
Upon learning that the Xie family had sent people to occupy White Emperor City, he had rushed over.
He arrived just in time to witness Xu Feng’s reckless attempt.
“Your Xie family wields such great power. Why don’t you mention anything when you strike for real?”
Fu Bing followed closely behind, entering and facing Xie Tingting.
She wore a sleek black combat outfit, her spirit soaring—a far cry from the listless and defeated demeanor she had shown when the Xie siblings first arrived.
“Fu Bing, this has nothing to do with you. Don’t meddle!”
“Qin Mu is my friend. If your Xie family wants to leech off him and take White Emperor City, how can that be unrelated?”
“Friend?” Xie Tingting considered for a moment.
When Zhang Zizhe reported earlier, he had indeed mentioned that Fu Bing and Qin Mu’s relationship was complicated.
Smirking, Xie Tingting mocked, “I thought you’d made some progress, but you’re just friends with this nobody?”
“Why don’t you go back and watch your old man? How dare he wander out here?”
“Aren’t you afraid that while you’re out, the old man suddenly drops dead, and you won’t even see him for the last time?”
Xie Tingting taunted with biting sarcasm.
She knew well that whenever Fu Yantu was involved, Fu Bing was utterly powerless.
