Chapter Ninety-One: CP0 (First Chapter on the Shelves—Please Subscribe and Recommend)

Buffon’s eyes and hands moved with astonishing speed, and with the art of a master goalkeeper, he intercepted the attack with a one-handed catch and neutralized it.

At that moment, three white figures appeared on the path ahead of the transport crab, blocking the way.

The others on the crab did not know who these three were, but the instant Buffon and Saul saw their attire, they understood their identities.

White suits and those gaudy masks—who else could they be but CP0, the direct agency of the Celestial Dragons?

“An attack from front and rear?” Saul said, and then he leaped straight off the transport crab.

After the massacre order at Ohara, Saul’s doubts about the Celestial Dragons and the World Government had reached their peak.

And after hearing Robin speak of the years she had spent being hunted by CP0, he now had a reason he could not refuse to fight.

“That strike just now wasn’t from those three,” said Fujitora, voicing the same judgment Buffon had reached in his heart.

The moment he finished speaking, a clear female voice rang out: “Casty Buffon! Leave Princess Vivi behind, and I can let you and the Straw Hat crew go.”

Following the voice, Buffon looked over and saw a woman with short blond hair and a white cloak appearing to the left of the three.

The instant Buffon saw her face, countless thoughts surged through his mind.

“What is the queen of the pleasure district doing here?” Reiju whispered in his ear.

Buffon shook his head and said seriously, “You go first. Take Vivi to Alubarna. Leave this place to me.”

At that, Fujitora interjected, “Was that the Navy’s Six Powers just now?”

Buffon nodded and said nothing. He then leaped down from the transport crab and stood beside Saul.

Seeing Buffon also jump down, Vivi grew even more anxious. If she had at least a rough sense of Crocodile and Robin’s strength, then the four who had just appeared were entirely beyond her understanding.

And from Buffon and Fujitora’s exchange, she faintly felt that these four were probably agents of the World Government. If so, and they were here to seize her...

As she was thinking this, Reiju came up beside her at just the right moment and said, “It’s fine, don’t worry. Captain Buffon can handle it.”

Then she turned to Sanji and Chopper. “What are you standing there for? Move!”

Hearing that, Chopper nodded and said, “Right. We have to believe in Luffy and Doctor Buffon!” He had seen Buffon’s skills in Walpol’s castle, so he trusted Reiju’s words completely.

With that, he tugged the reins hanging from the corners of the transport crab’s mouth, and the great crab began moving swiftly sideways toward Alubarna.

The three CP0 agents in masks tried to stop it, but Saul’s massive frame barred their way. It was his first time opposing the World Government since joining the crew of the Juventus.

Having trained with Buffon for more than a year, Saul showed no mercy at all to the people of his old employer. His giant hand, hardened like iron, swept toward the three with a fierce blast of wind.

The three CP0 agents dared not take the blow head-on and leaped aside to evade it. But Saul, also well-versed in the Navy’s Six Powers, did not rely solely on brute strength and physique.

His Soru, combined with Iron Body, sealed off every route they might have taken forward.

Seeing the three had been blocked, the blond woman stepped into Moon Step and moved to intercept the transport crab. But Buffon was faster; in a blur, he appeared directly in her path.

“Buffon, are you really going to make the World Government your enemy? Haven’t you considered your current identity and position? You are, after all, under one of the Seven Warlords, and this person beside you is...”

Before the woman could finish, Buffon cut her off. “Stussy, then under what identity are you speaking to me now? As a CP0 agent, or as the queen of the pleasure district?”

Stussy was slightly startled that Buffon had identified her with a single remark.

As a member of the World Government’s highest intelligence organization, she knew far more about Buffon than most. Since he had already stepped forward to stop her, she had completely abandoned any thought of pursuit.

“You know quite a lot,” she said. “As someone under Moria’s command, why are you sticking your nose into the muddy waters of Alabasta? And is Saul a zombie or a living man?”

Even for Stussy of CP0, those two questions made no sense.

It was only after the report of Buffon’s clash with Mihawk reached them that CP0 began to truly take him seriously.

They had paid attention before, of course, but only because of Buffon’s superb corpse-stitching technique and medical skill. In terms of combat power, he had previously been someone hardly worth mentioning.

But to fight Mihawk to a draw on his first move—that changed everything. Especially since he also bore the outer mantle of being under one of the Seven Warlords.

As for Saul, the former vice admiral who had supposedly died beneath Kuzan’s hand, she was even more baffled.

Kuzan freezing Saul to death was an unquestionable fact, and she also knew full well how Buffon had once rescued people from the hands of death at G-8 Fortress.

But Saul had been dead for twenty years, and yet he did not look like a zombie either. What confused Stussy most of all was one thing: Saul had no shadow.

That made it even harder for her to judge the former vice admiral’s condition.

“So even CP0 doesn’t know everything,” Buffon sneered. He was just about to strike when a violent tremor suddenly came from behind him.

Buffon turned and saw that the battlefield where Luffy fought Crocodile had become a vast, curved sinkhole. Visible currents of quicksand were slowly swallowing Luffy whole.

Crocodile’s voice boomed out, arrogant and cold: “No one in this world can defeat me in the desert.”

Buffon felt that Crocodile was not speaking only to Luffy, but also to him.

He shook his head, unfastened the waterskin at his waist, and tossed it toward Luffy, who was struggling to claw his way out of the quicksand. “Water from Yuba!”

Luffy stretched his arm with the power of the Gum-Gum Fruit and caught the waterskin in a single grab.

Though the D Clan may be a little thick-headed, their battle instincts were exceptional. That small hint made Luffy instantly understand what Buffon meant.

At that very moment, Stussy’s attack and her voice arrived together. “You’re still distracted by someone else’s fight? Looks like you...”

Before she could finish, Buffon’s large hand had already clamped tightly around the finger she was about to thrust forward in Finger Gun.

“I don’t think that’s a gentleman’s way to fight.”

Yet Stussy’s psychological warfare had no effect whatsoever. The sound of a bone cracking came together with Buffon’s calm voice:

“Doctors see no gender.”

The searing pain left Stussy feeling momentarily weak, but as a CP0 agent, she changed tactics in an instant. A Tempest Kick swept out with a crescent-shaped blade of shockwave and struck Buffon square in the waist.

Buffon did not dodge at all, allowing the kick to land directly on his body, which had already been hardened with Iron Body.

The sound of bone cracking rang out again, and at that moment there was only one word in Stussy’s heart: despair.

All these years, whether as a CP0 agent or as one of the six underground kings, she had long been accustomed to looking down on others from above. Not only had she never been utterly crushed, she had never even taken a single blow, whether in attack or defense.

And yet this man before her seemed to have no fear whatsoever of either of her identities. More than that, the same Navy Six Powers produced a completely different result in Buffon’s hands than in hers; the difference was as vast as heaven and earth.
