Chapter 35: The Transmigrator's Curtain Call

When Mu Rongxun arrived at the manor, he discovered a chaotic melee in progress. It was no longer just the Rose Prince; a new opponent had joined the fray. Ye Qing and his group, who had previously held the upper hand, were now being suppressed. This was despite the addition of Snow White to their ranks.

It was only then that Mu Rongxun realized Snow White was a mage, and a Light-element one at that. He was very familiar with that holy light energy, which was identical to the power wielded by the four Paladin brothers. Furthermore, a sturdy young man holding a long spear was also fighting alongside them. Yet, the Rose Prince and a woman wearing snow-white, ornate robes were pushing them into a purely defensive position.

He scanned the surroundings and, noticing Cinderella was nowhere to be seen, frowned. However, with the enemy at hand, now was not the time to dwell on that. He drew "Shadow of Slaughter" and plunged into the battle.

Having killed many soldiers previously, his equipment, "Shadow of Slaughter," had finally evolved for the first time. Though the changes were not massive, it was an improvement nonetheless.

The Rose Prince was clearly powerful, but the woman beside him seemed easier to handle; he decided to target her. This woman was the Evil Queen, summoned across space by the Rose Prince. With one fighting in melee and the other at range, they had everyone suppressed.

Though she appeared delicate, the Evil Queen possessed profound magical attainments. As a descendant of the same lineage of mages as the Queen of Hearts, her talent was immense. If not for the Queen of Hearts owning a dragon, she might not have been able to keep her in check.

Just as she was focused on suppressing the group, she did not expect someone to suddenly appear behind her.

"Hmph! Ignorant!" Sensing the anomaly, she let out a cold snort, and a magical shield materialized to envelop her.

However, she was unaware that the Shadow of Slaughter now possessed a formidable attribute: shield-breaking. Infused with energy, the blade easily pierced through her magical barrier. As the blade made contact with her robes, the Evil Queen suddenly turned to stone, becoming a statue. The petrification effect of the Shadow of Slaughter had been triggered.

Without the Evil Queen's magical support, the Rose Prince became flustered under the combined assault, gradually unable to defend himself. He retreated step by step, and even after transforming into a black dragon, the team's coordinated skills forced him back into human form.

"You forced me to do this!" Cornered, the Rose Prince spoke in a cold, resolute voice.

He pulled a tender green leaf from his body and crushed it. His face was a twisted mask of resentment and madness. As the leaf shattered, dark green light converged in the void, forming a phantom portal.

"Oh my, Rose, you finally summoned us! And at such a critical moment, how wonderful!"

Three tiny figures flew out of the portal, their voices filled with excitement. Mu Rongxun and the others braced themselves, expecting a serious threat, only to see three miniature girls. They had all the features of humans but were only the size of a palm, with dragonfly-like wings on their backs.

They looked to be in poor condition; their dark green hair was disheveled, and their clothes were scorched black as if by fire. One of them even had half of a wing missing. The Rose Prince, who had pinned his hopes on them, felt his heart sink. He had sought reinforcements, not burdens.

Yet, seemingly feeling safe, the three fairies grew arrogant again.

"Look, a few mortals who don't fear death. Won't you pay respects to the great forest fairies?" one of them said, hands on her hips, hovering in mid-air with a haughty expression.

"What are those things?" Zhong Ye asked, tugging at his mage robe. In his view, using an eight-sided banner while wearing a mage robe was a perfect fusion of East and West.

"Fairies?" Ye Qing frowned. Fairies were extraordinary creatures born with innate power. Even though these three didn't look like adults, their strength was not to be underestimated.

Just as they were pondering, a thunderous boom shook the sky, and a bolt of lightning tore through the dark clouds, illuminating the world like daylight.

"Ah!" one fairy screamed in terror. "They're hunting us!"

The other two were equally restless. They tried to flee, but four figures suddenly appeared, blocking their path.

"Let's see where you can run now!" Zeus was surrounded by thunderous divine power. The long-distance teleportation had consumed much of his strength, and his expression was grim.

"Wouldn't it be better to just behave?"

"No way! You want to sell us; you're a bad person!" the fairy retorted, puffing out her cheeks.

"Little brother, we meet again!" Okding greeted them with a chuckle.

"What kind of formation is this?" Mu Rongxun asked curiously, observing the standoff.

"The Mythic Squad?" Ye Qing's expression softened slightly upon seeing them.

"How about we share this task with you?" Okding asked. Seeing that the shared mission reward was a bronze badge, he was overjoyed and grew enthusiastic toward Ye Qing.

"Very well. We'll handle the rule-breakers, and you help us capture these three fairies. How about that?"

They had spent much effort and paid a heavy price to find the fairies' hiding place. Just as they were about to succeed, a portal had allowed the fairies to escape. If they returned empty-handed after consuming so much divine power for a long-distance pursuit, it would be a massive loss.

"Deal!" Ye Qing agreed without hesitation. Compared to the Rose Prince, dealing with the three fairies was more suitable for him.

With the agreement, Okding and his companions attacked the Rose Prince. Zeus, wielding his spear and shield, led the charge. The Rose Prince tried to transform into a black dragon to escape, but his claws were immediately bound by a chain.

"Kid, blame yourself for being too strong and touching the realm of the gods!" Zeus laughed wildly. The Chain of Binding rendered even a demi-god helpless, and the Rose Prince fit the criteria perfectly.

Meanwhile, the three fairies tried to escape, but Ye Qing didn't need help. The power of the Azure Dragon surged within him, causing the surrounding vegetation to grow wildly, forming a cage that trapped them tight. No matter how they struggled, it was useless.

As fairies, they excelled in wood-elemental spells and divine arts, but against Ye Qing, these were ineffective. Because the Azure Dragon's power was a higher-level application of wood-element energy, it suppressed them completely. This was the law of mutual generation and restriction.

The Rose Prince had been able to fight Ye Qing, but as a demi-god, he was powerless against the divine chain. The fairies had toyed with Okding's group in the forest, but now, faced with Ye Qing, they had no means to fight back.

During this time, the Evil Queen awoke from her petrification and tried to help the Rose Prince, but she was struck down by Okding's Spear of Victory, her fate unknown. As a mage, she was no match for these god-hunters. There was an absolute gap in power, and divine energy was superior to most other types. Mana was merely ordinary energy, destined to be suppressed by divine power, just as the fairies were suppressed by the higher-level Azure Dragon energy.

The mission was completed successfully. Ye Qing executed the rule-breaking traveler, the Rose Prince. No one knew or cared about his past; having completed the mission, he departed. Okding and his three companions, having captured the fairies and already having hunted many gods, returned home with their spoils.
