Liu Mengchao smiled as he looked at the people in the car and the prize pool before him.

Though no one spoke, the question Komuro Takashi had raised hovered like a dark cloud above everyone’s head.

“Takagi Saya’s father is named Takagi Soichiro. He’s the president of the Patriotic Unity Association.” Komuro’s face was shadowed with worry, and everyone who heard that name shared his concern to varying degrees.

“Big brother, what’s the Patriotic Unity Association?” Alice looked up curiously and asked Liu Mengchao.

“The Patriotic Unity Association?” Liu Mengchao’s gaze swept the interior of the car, noticing only Ye Yutian was still confused. “It’s a right-wing organization in Japan.”

“Right-wing organization? Does that mean it’s a group with wings on the right side?” Alice still didn’t understand, but at the front, Ye Yutian, who was driving, began to sense danger.

President of a right-wing organization, the Patriotic Unity Association.

What could Japan be so concerned about? Surely not the succession troubles of the emperor! Absolutely not!

As Ye Yutian thought about what they were about to face, cold sweat broke out on his forehead. This was nothing like the scenes in manga, where Komuro Takashi’s party escorted Takagi Saya to her home and were simply let inside.

What about their group?

They had killed Takagi Saya.

“I won’t say a word!” Suddenly, as if struck by a realization, Komuro Takashi’s face turned pale and he hurried to speak.

“What were you about to say?” Liu Mengchao leaned back in his seat, speaking nonchalantly, “Are you suggesting that we—a group of Chinese—killed Takagi Saya? The daughter of a Japanese right-wing leader?”

Screech!

The Humvee suddenly lurched forward, sending zombies flying off the street, limbs flailing, before slamming into the windshield with a loud thud, leaving a huge bloody smear.

“This is something we absolutely can’t mention! If we do, we’re done for!” Ye Yutian whipped his head around, glaring at Komuro Takashi with wide, fear-filled eyes.

He was terrified.

No one can prevent their lower eyelids from tightening in the face of fear, and Ye Yutian’s raised brows were knotted together.

He was unmistakably close to tears.

“What should we do?” Ye Yutian looked at Liu Mengchao, pleading for guidance.

Just as Liu Mengchao stared at the prize pool amount on his system panel.

Prize pool: three hundred and ten thousand!

The prize pool was skyrocketing. Liu Mengchao smiled at the other two in the car.

Li Xin, and a pallid, even more ashen Itou Makoto.

“Liu Mengchao…” Itou Makoto could no longer suppress his terror as he looked at Liu Mengchao and said, “Do you know the kind of people militarists hate most?”

“Chinese, I suppose.” Liu Mengchao replied carelessly, uttering words that nearly scared Li Xin and Ye Yutian out of their wits. The prize pool surged again.

“No…” Itou Makoto shook his head, trembling as if recalling something dreadful.

“Ah, it must be Chinese who killed his daughter,” Liu Mengchao continued, inflating their fear like a balloon—blowing it bigger and bigger until it bursts.

And Liu Mengchao’s only task was to let go before the balloon exploded. For now, it was far from reaching its limit.

“Moreover, she was his only daughter.”

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Ye Yutian’s hands shook violently, and under his control, the Humvee was less a galloping horse than a drunken fool, swerving erratically.

“Don’t say things like that!” Ye Yutian dared not yell at Liu Mengchao, but he shouted at Itou Makoto for the first time.

Itou Makoto, however, began to laugh.

Liu Mengchao laughed as well, for the prize pool in front of him had grown yet again.

Prize pool: three hundred and twenty thousand.

“The ones he hates most are people like me, those who stand on the same side as you,” Itou Makoto said, his whole body slackening, “Japanese who side with the Chinese—in other words, traitors.”

Smack!

No sooner had Itou Makoto finished than Ye Yutian turned the wheel sharply, sending the vehicle plunging into the Jingchuan River.

“Luckily, the Humvee is amphibious. Or rather, this car has been modified quite well,” Ye Yutian remarked, now calm as if the shouting had come from someone else.

Still, Liu Mengchao caught Ye Yutian’s expression in the rearview mirror.

He was struggling to suppress his terror.

Excellent—Liu Mengchao was pleased. At least, until they arrived at the Takagi residence, everyone remained constantly on edge, which was ideal.

Just like the ever-boiling prize pool.

Prize pool: three hundred and twenty-three thousand.

Gurgle… gurgle… gurgle…

Underwater, the only sound Liu Mengchao heard was the wheels churning through the river. The voices inside the car had faded entirely, even their breathing seemed to vanish, lest it provoke an attack.

Clang!

A soft sound, a slight jolt.

The Humvee had reached the shore.

“What do we do now?” Ye Yutian braked with his left foot and stopped the vehicle.

Everyone’s gaze instantly converged on Liu Mengchao. At this moment, he was the undisputed leader of the group.

No doubt, no question!

“Get out first!”

Without waiting for the others to react, Liu Mengchao kicked open the door and jumped out.

“Not getting out? Senior? And Qi Xiaoxiao? Staying in the car is an easy way to catch a cold, you know.” Liu Mengchao ignored the others in the vehicle, instead smiling at the two girls inside.

“Oh?”

With a snap, Saeko Busujima, dressed in purple high heels, leaped down, her eyes glinting as she looked at Liu Mengchao.

“You’ve gotten yourselves into trouble.”

“Not you, us.”

Qi Xiaoxiao followed Saeko Busujima out of the car.

“You’re finally thinking about Takagi Saya now?” Qi Xiaoxiao frowned, not smiling, “Getting into the Takagi estate will not be easy.”

“Not just difficult,” Itou Makoto emerged with Ye Yutian, “we might die there.”

“Not possibly—we’re very likely to,” Ye Yutian said, anxiously looking at Liu Mengchao. “What should we do, Liu Mengchao?”

What should they do?

Liu Mengchao couldn’t help but smile.

The reincarnators asking the Lord God for guidance—what to do with this quest?

Of course, it’s what’s most difficult.

“We’ll break in!”

An earthquake.

The prize pool exploded.

Prize pool: three hundred and forty thousand!

“You’re not joking, are you…” Not only Itou Makoto and Ye Yutian, even the usually unflappable Qi Xiaoxiao looked at Liu Mengchao in doubt.

“We all speak Japanese…” Ye Yutian said, casting a sly glance at Komuro Takashi and Miyamoto Rei still in the car, “We could pretend to be refugees and sneak in.”

“If only they don’t say anything…”

Itou Makoto’s gaze was just as cold, full of menace.

“Yes, if they talk, we’ll be trapped like fish in a barrel, unable to escape,” Liu Mengchao laughed.

Pretend and sneak in? Don’t be naïve—even if the Takagi parents don’t care, he would never let that happen.

“Don’t you think the Takagi estate is like a powder keg? One explosion could send hordes of zombies straight to heaven.”

“What do you mean?”

“As reincarnators, we should consider one thing,” Liu Mengchao walked to the front of the car and looked at the group, “Farming points.”

No one spoke.

Prize pool: three hundred and forty-five thousand.

Trust the Lord God—he’ll help you farm points, reincarnators.
