Chapter 133: This Black Dragon Lady... She's Quite Something!
Louis set down the letter and asked with a strange expression, "Count, is this the identity you have arranged for me?"
"No, no," Crowley said. "You misunderstand, my dear Louis. This baptism is merely a secondary matter."
As he spoke, Mr. Crowley pulled out a resume and remarked with a peculiar look on his face, "This was given to me by Mr. Archie. His Majesty Igor has certainly seen your resume by now, but it lacks the seal of the Moon Court. Any individual arriving from overseas territories must first be certified and processed by the Moon Court upon reaching the mainland. The Cloud Kingdom also maintains frequent contact with the Moon Court. Therefore, we must ask the Moon Court for a small favor: to notarize your identity as a Prince of the Cloud Kingdom and then handle the processing of your passport."
Louis covered his face. That son of a bitch Archie! He just had to make things up, and sure enough, he left behind a massive mess.
"Hehe, my young friend, no need to be nervous. We have already arranged everything," Bishop John interjected with a smile. "I spoke with the Bishop of the Cathedral yesterday and explained that you would be coming today to reissue your passport. But he insisted that you come in person to—ahem—also receive the investiture of a Knight of Authority. I think it’s a wonderful idea."
Louis’s eye twitched as he said, "You know, I am a magic enthusiast. Furthermore, as a priest of the Holy Oak, it would be inappropriate for me to accept investiture at the Moon Court... Bishop, my identity as a Prince of the Cloud Kingdom is genuine—look at the Holy Oak seal on this resume! These are our official Holy Oak archives! I just need to go to the Cathedral to handle the passport, no investiture is required."
Bishop John stared at him and said, "Absolutely not!"
"Ahem," Crowley said. "Louis, the Holy Oak and the Moon Court are like family. Bishop John has already discussed this with several of your own bishops—it’s a gesture to promote mutual exchange. Just go through the motions. Once that’s done, the Bishop will handle the paperwork for your Cloud Kingdom status."
After saying this, Crowley gave Louis a wink, which clearly meant: *My young friend, you know exactly what’s going on with this resume—Archie told me everything, and you should know better! We need the Moon Court to help clean up your mess, so just bear with it and play the part of this Cathedral bigwig.*
*Even if it’s just a title, it carries a lot of prestige. Once you’ve taken on this title, wherever I take you in the future, we’ll both have face!*
"My young friend, this is a great thing," Bishop John persuaded again. "Just as this young lady said, it is customary for priests of the Holy Oak to be baptized at the Moon Court. I recall that you once had a priest who made films—he represented the Holy Oak and received a baptism here. I heard he was promoted after he returned! This is a rare addition to one's resume."
Louis looked at Yingling with disbelief.
Yingling’s mouth twitched, and she nodded, leaning into Louis’s ear to whisper, "It’s fine, my lord. Although wizards might laugh at such titles, the Ministry of Magic actually mandates that a portion of its students be sent to the Moon Court to study magic every year. Many high-level agents of the Department of Mysteries hold titles from the Moon Court to facilitate their travel between nations."
Louis suddenly remembered the manual: *If you encounter a priest who understands magic, do not doubt it—they are most likely a wizard.*
"Sigh, when one is under another's roof..." Louis sighed, adopting the attitude of, *Fine, I’ll reluctantly play the part of this Cathedral bigwig.*
*When one is under another's roof...* Crowley’s eye twitched violently as he watched Bishop John looking as pleased as if he had stolen a chicken.
*My young friend really is quite promising,* Crowley shook his head.
Upon reaching the entrance of the Cathedral, Bishop John acted mysterious, as if afraid someone would see Louis arriving, and specifically instructed the carriage driver to head directly to the back courtyard.
"The resume Mr. Archie created looks authentic," Bishop John said, stroking his beard. "The Holy Oak seal is also genuine. As for this matter... hehe, Louis, you understand."
The implication was clear: arranging your identity as a Prince of the Cloud Kingdom was an under-the-table operation. It wouldn't be good if it were discovered.
Louis and Yingling examined the file repeatedly and exchanged a strange look. In Yingling’s impression, Louis was indeed a foreign prince, and many of the documents before them actually looked real—some even appeared to be from the Headmaster’s office.
"My lord, it seems that everything except for the bullshit Archie made up is actually true."
Louis stared at the documents, lost in thought. During the conversation, the carriage had unknowingly entered the back courtyard of the Great Cathedral. It was a small garden with a stream running through it. The Cathedral appeared to be massive, containing churches, monasteries, a Templar academy, and various administrative areas.
The carriage did not stop but continued deep into the Cathedral grounds. As they passed the entrance of a certain building, Louis saw a group of Dragonborn. They looked similar to Ah Long, though not as tall or fearsome, yet they were roughly the size of Archie’s five three-meter-tall Dragonborn bodyguards.
Two of the "Dragonborn" looked quite distinctive. They were a man and a woman; the man was two point two meters tall, and the woman was one point nine meters tall. Wearing iron combat boots, they were taller than Louis. Both were very handsome, and beneath their eyes, there were dark golden marks resembling tear stains. They had several horns atop their heads, with two being particularly thick and intertwined with smaller ones, adorned with various decorations.
Louis remembered seeing a few such "Dragonborn" when he was in the South District of the Holy Oak, though those lacked the dark golden tear stains. Seeming to notice Louis’s gaze, the beautiful Dragonborn woman looked at him with an unfriendly expression, as if she were displeased by a human staring directly at her.
Louis used the knowledge he possessed to "see" her true name, and the Storybook immediately organized the information he had perceived.
【True Name: 'Daonawalladra Saint... Galak'】
【Age: Youth】
【Body Length: Sixteen stories tall】
【Lineage: The infinitely noble pure-blood 'Galak'】
*This Black Dragon missy is quite large!*
Louis calculated his own current body length, which was over twenty stories, but if he coiled up, he would take up about a dozen stories. By comparison, their tonnage was roughly the same.
Louis smiled and waved at the beautiful Dragonborn woman. She narrowed her eyes, radiating a hint of killing intent, and the man’s expression also grew hostile.
[Female: Disgusting male crawler! Though that little fox looks decent... but she is still the most beautiful...]
[Male: Base ant! These crawlers are everywhere!]
Yingling’s pupils suddenly contracted as she whispered, "The Black Dragon clan."
"Black Dragon? No, no, those are Nephilim," Count Crowley said. "The one in armor is Prince 'Zeke' of the Nephilim, and that tall woman is Princess 'Annabella'."
Louis nodded, acknowledging these as their human names.
*Annabella sounds like the word for 'Black Pearl' in Draconic. It’s much better than 'Brockhole'—Dead Wood (an ancient golden oak fruit).*
Crowley pulled the curtains shut, his eyes looking somewhat grave as he turned to Louis. "Louis, the delegation from the mysterious kingdom I mentioned to you yesterday—that is them. They have come this time with the intention of forming a marriage alliance with Solondo."
"A marriage alliance?" Yingling’s eyes widened. "With whom? With Ossicris?"
"Exactly. In fact, this is not their first time coming," Crowley shook his head and let go of the curtain.
