The boss returned to the cave and gazed coldly at Bloodless, then spoke, “Qianyin has refused to eat lately, starving herself for several days. I can let her go, but you must agree to one condition: you must act as though you are already dead. From this moment, you cannot see Qianyin again, nor tell her you are alive. You must serve me under a new identity.”

This scheme had been devised during the boss’s short walk back, a plan to manipulate Bloodless and bind him to service. Both had disrupted his plans enough; a measure of punishment was in order. Since Qianyin could not be used, he would make them both suffer the torment of love.

Bloodless’s face paled upon hearing Qianyin had not eaten for days, a pain tightening in his chest. He himself had been eating well, even gaining weight. It was time to send Qianyin away. She might mourn his death for a while, but if she stayed here, she would die.

Bloodless closed his eyes and slammed his fist against the wall. Blood trickled down his fingers, pooling on the ground, but he felt no pain at all. If he agreed to this condition, would Qianyin hate him forever?

“Don’t harm yourself like this, or I’ll have to waste time tending to your injuries,” the boss reminded, unwilling to delay his plans. With such an advantage, he needed to attack before the police caught on, or risk losing everything.

Bloodless nodded silently. He was now a new man. Since he had agreed, it meant he would recognize no one, serving only the boss.

With a wave of his hand, the boss summoned someone, who brought in a set of masks, new weapons, and a standard suit of black clothing. Bloodless glanced at the outfit and accepted it without protest, holding it in his arms.

“Hand over your weapons. This silenced ‘Akame’ is for you,” the boss produced a black silenced pistol, accented with a hint of red—fitting for Bloodless’s name, though he was unaccustomed to firearms.

Knowing this was a new beginning, Bloodless handed over all six throwing knives hidden in his sleeves, leaving none behind. The boss, satisfied, left with the weapons.

Bloodless changed into the new attire, then sat quietly by the doorway. Flower Thief returned, having heard that Bloodless had submitted to the boss, his expression dazed. He wanted to find Han to talk.

He soon discovered he was not allowed near Han’s quarters.

Watching two assassins at the door, Flower Thief felt helpless and turned to find Bloodless, intending to inform him that someone would come to support him. But halfway there, the boss suddenly appeared behind him.

“What are you trying to do?”

“Ah, sir, I haven’t done anything,” Flower Thief stammered guiltily, having just tipped off the so-called enemy.

“You are to go somewhere and not return unless I command it,” the boss said, handing Flower Thief a slip of paper. Flower Thief stared blankly at it—he had never been to this place, but thought he could find it. He nodded and left, paper in hand.

The boss watched him depart, said nothing, then prepared to discuss important matters with the other bosses.

Qianyin was gravely injured and unconscious, having lain so for days. Boss Jin had intended to send her back to the Mo family, but because of trouble at Ore Mountain, he couldn’t leave, so he kept Qianyin nearby to recover.

When Qianyin opened her eyes, she found herself in a spacious room, lying on a white bed. She rubbed her head and noticed it was bandaged—she was hurt.

How had she gotten injured? As she puzzled over this, a bodyguard entered, saw she was awake, set food on the table, and smiled, “Miss Qianyin, please eat.”

He left to inform Boss Jin. Qianyin looked at the food—it was all her favorites, though mild, given her injuries.

She wanted to ask why she was here, where Bloodless and Mo Lan had gone, and why they hadn’t reached the assassin world as planned. Why was she at Boss Jin’s place?

After eating, Qianyin walked outside and realized this was a strange place—not like Boss Jin’s house. Venturing further, she saw Boss Jin sitting on the sofa, brow furrowed, hands clutching the “Colorful Light Jade,” appearing deeply frustrated.

“What’s wrong, Boss Jin?” Qianyin’s clear voice rang out. Boss Jin turned sharply; he had stopped the bodyguard from speaking earlier and didn’t know Qianyin was awake.

“You’re awake. How did you collapse on the road?” Boss Jin immediately asked about the day she fainted, trying to learn what had happened. He’d been too busy to contact Mo Lan and the others.

“I don’t know. I only remember we were headed to the assassin world, but why I fainted, I’ve forgotten.” As she spoke, Qianyin’s head throbbed again; she closed her eyes, massaging her forehead lightly. She decided not to think about it—whenever she tried, pain overwhelmed her.

Boss Jin sighed heavily. Lately, events had grown increasingly strange. His mine had been discovered, and someone had stolen all his “Colorful Light Jade,” leaving not a single stone behind. Who dared to strike at him, to steal his treasures?

“Seems things haven’t been going well for you lately, Boss Jin,” Qianyin said, rubbing her head, feeling better, and sitting beside him in concern.

Boss Jin explained everything to Qianyin, who reacted with shock—one stone alone could sell for fifty-five billion, and now all had been stolen, not one left.

Who would dare to pluck feathers from Boss Jin’s head? Who leaked the information? Qianyin immediately thought of Foreman Lin from that day—an incorrigible man, even after Boss Jin spared his life.

Boss Jin knew it was Lin’s doing, but despite searching everywhere, he hadn’t found Lin or his group. Now what? The loss of the “Colorful Light Jade” was immense.

Qianyin furrowed her brow—these matters were thorny. Could it be the boss’s gang behind it?

The moment she thought of the boss, her head ached again, and she instinctively pressed her hand to her forehead.

Boss Jin watched her and sighed once more—his luck seemed ever worse. Who was targeting him? Was it the boss Qianyin spoke of?

Suddenly, two bodyguards knelt before Qianyin and said, “This batch of ‘Colorful Light Jade’ is vital to our boss. We hope Miss Qianyin will assist us in retrieving it.”

Boss Jin hadn’t dared to ask, knowing Qianyin was injured. If she helped, the matter would surely go smoothly. But her health came first—he couldn’t force her.
