Chapter 15: You Proposed to Me
The alarm clock rang for the second time, and Yun Chuxia sprang out of bed like a carp flipping in the water.
Although Lu Yao had told her to officially report in the afternoon, she planned to go early to make a good impression on the leadership.
Her hungover head felt heavy, preventing her from immediately recalling where she was.
She threw back the thin quilt, and her pale toes touched the floor. The soft sensation underfoot made her glance down involuntarily.
She froze in place.
The light pink silk camisole nightgown she wore was not hers.
Nor had she changed into it herself.
Panicked, she turned her head and met a pair of deep black eyes.
Si Yuchuan had finished tidying up and was adjusting his tie. When he noticed her looking back, his gaze lingered on her exposed collarbone.
Yun Chuxia’s heart leapt wildly, and her tongue tangled: “You, I, we…”
Si Yuchuan spoke casually, without any emotion, “What’s wrong?”
His eyes slid down naturally, lingering on her fair, slender calves.
“N-nothing,” she stammered.
Her heart pounded loudly, but she dared not ask further.
She stole a glance at the man opposite her—a figure of cold elegance and noble arrogance in every gesture.
Memories of last night flooded back—her last conscious moments before getting drunk had been collapsing onto Si Yuchuan.
Crying and laughing, hands wandering, utterly scandalous.
Lost in those wild thoughts, a shadow suddenly fell over her head.
---
Si Yuchuan was dressed in a suit and tie, a stark contrast to his usual casual, carefree demeanor; today, he seemed especially formal.
“Do you remember what you did to me last night?”
Yun Chuxia stared at her toes, afraid to look up.
Si Yuchuan fixed his gaze on her burning earlobes; the nape of her neck had also flushed a faint pink.
He spoke calmly: “You proposed to me.”
A thunderclap struck out of nowhere.
Yun Chuxia’s eyes widened in shock. She suddenly looked up and caught sight of a strawberry-shaped mark just below his Adam’s apple.
It was awkwardly placed—his collar barely covered half of it.
She stammered, “I’m sorry, I was drunk. Please don’t take it seriously.”
How embarrassing! She had slept with him, yes, but to promise a lifetime?
“Can’t take it seriously?” Si Yuchuan said innocently, “But I already said yes.”
Yun Chuxia blinked, doubting whether she was still drunk or had misheard.
Si Yuchuan was perfectly serious: “You even said you’d go get the marriage certificate this morning.”
He tightened his tie. “I’m ready.”
Yun Chuxia was utterly baffled.
She looked up, searching for some reaction from the livestream chat, but only found a few scattered comments: [Watching].
Their discussion focused mostly on the main storyline between the male and female leads.
[Is the villainess’s dark turn going to be given to the male lead instead?]
---
[The male lead is already tainted. After dinner with the female lead last night, he even acted sentimental in front of the villainess’s photo.]
[He even bought the villainess a house—right beneath their wedding suite.]
[The plot is pretty much the same as the original; the villainess eventually moved in downstairs to constantly harass the male lead.]
[The villainess’s role is basically to torment the couple.]
[The villainess should just die already to liven up the plot.]
Blaming me again?
Why should I?
At this point, can the plot even be fixed?
Yun Chuxia looked at Si Yuchuan. If she really married him, would the male lead’s dark turn even matter?
They certainly wouldn’t dare to forcibly keep the young aunt as a mistress, right?
For her, this only added more variables to the plot.
But why was Si Yuchuan so eager? Did he have some system task that required marriage?
Yun Chuxia thought it best to ask directly:
“Do you have some mission you need to complete?”
Si Yuchuan raised an eyebrow in puzzlement, then his expression returned to normal:
“Yes. It’s a task from the Si family.”
“My nephew is already engaged. As an elder, I can’t fall behind in progress.”
