Volume 1, Chapter 37: The Date
Zuo Yanming walked straight past Wang Xu and his group as if they did not exist, approaching Elder Liu with a beaming smile. The scene unfolded as if he were reuniting with an old friend.
"Elder Liu! And all the members of the Liu family, greetings!"
With these words, he extended his hand toward Elder Liu with the utmost courtesy. Surprised by such unexpected deference, Elder Liu was momentarily stunned before hurriedly shaking Zuo Yanming’s hand. "Chairman Zuo, I have long admired your reputation!"
Zuo Yanming, in high spirits, held onto Elder Liu’s hand, reluctant to let go. "Haha, Elder Liu, I have heard tales of your distinguished presence for quite some time, and I have long held you in high esteem."
In doing so, he granted the Liu family immense prestige. He cast a furtive glance at Lin Yu.
As for Yuanyuan, he could not remember exactly how long it had been, but Luo Anning had always told him and Chengcheng that their family would reunite, that he and Chengcheng would return to their father’s side, and that they would be happily together forever. But now, what had become of their mother?
"That is correct, we saw it with our own eyes..." Liu Feng and Liu Yang recounted everything in detail to the two men in black, starting from the arrival of Su Ruoxi and Xiao Chen, omitting nothing.
Everyone present thought the same, but whether they had not yet found the time to speak or simply could not bear to crush his spirit, no one—not even Elder Tang—said a word.
"Tell me, the child is fine, isn't she? She was born safely, right?" Cheng Leng gripped Lan Li’s shoulders, asking anxiously. He could not even begin to imagine the consequences of his own negligence.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Charming Joy Demon Venerable, Chu Yi stood entirely unafraid. The Azure Underworld Sword occupied the other half of the sky, standing in stark opposition to the Ancient Demonic Malevolence.
She was not ugly, nor was she incapable of dressing well; she was simply too lazy to make the effort. Otherwise, how could she possibly lack a boyfriend?
In the very end, the one who had ignited the conflict, despite her flushed face and breathless exhaustion, could not hide the smile in her eyes and at the corners of her mouth as she watched the back of the man who had fled in a panic to the bathroom to douse himself with cold water.
"It is true that she is worried about being a burden to me, but that is not the whole reason. In truth, she simply cannot bear to leave her father; she has not yet given up hope on him," Duan Xingchen sighed helplessly.
"Why do you say that?" Nan Xia had originally intended to answer with a firm "yes," but seeing Chen Tianyou’s expression, she seemed to glimpse something different. Thus, she asked in return.
Ye Huang could guess the Emperor’s intentions, as could Shangguan Yuntian. Consequently, he had been creating trouble for the Emperor recently to ensure he had no leisure to concern himself with the marriage between him and Ye Huang.
"Yang Zhi, you aren't bringing bodyguards? We are going to have to survive in the wilderness for a night this time, you know," Huo Canhui said, blinking at Yang Zhi.
Initially, Liu Jiangtao had assumed the diamond-grade character random draw wheel was the most useless, because there were only so many protagonists, while the world was filled with endless cannon fodder.
Thus, Wu Jing pushed through the chaotic sea of people, dodging countless zombies, and finally reached the inside of the supermarket.
Now that she had a powerful patron, she decided to quit while she was ahead, lest someone lose their temper and leave her with regrets later.
The kitchen had vanished, replaced by a room resembling an ancestral hall, where two spirit tablets were placed side by side on an altar table.
That pool of blood had wrapped around Chen Yuyi, sealing him airtight and forming a blood cocoon, with the light of the blood flickering on its surface.
Feng Yang had not expected things to turn out this way; he looked at Mu Xiaoxi with complex emotions, his eyes revealing a hint of reluctance.
What made this task particularly unusual was that it did not originate from the official task distribution center of Shan City, but from the capital itself.
"Yes, that is everything. I have no idea where that old man came from or how he came to possess so many treasures. Besides, he is as elusive as a dragon—I haven't seen him in a long time," Ding Qiu replied, telling the whole truth.
Yang Song finally made up his mind and stated his decision with absolute certainty before hanging up the phone and deleting all call logs associated with that number.
No one saw exactly what Beidou had done; they only knew for certain that he was the one who had killed him. What terrifying, lightning-fast speed that was!
Old Lu would have preferred to squeeze some money out of this household, but looking at the bare, dilapidated walls, there seemed to be nothing left worth selling.
"I don't give a damn about your explanation right now! I just want to know what I’m supposed to do!" My emotions were volatile, and I shouted at the top of my lungs.
Trust is something that is difficult to build, but once you want to break it, it becomes far too simple.
The car continued forward. It was very quiet inside, and the sun was scorching. The air in the car felt as if it had solidified, stifling and suffocating, and the road leading to Jinling University seemed to have stretched out significantly.
"Rip!" At that moment, Li Xing suddenly reversed his arm and swung, firmly wrapping it around Ma Hou’s neck, a dagger having appeared in his hand from nowhere.
"Looking for you, of course! You idiot, you wouldn't answer your phone," Fatty Wang said, sounding resentful, as he plopped down beside me.
The entire unit replied, "Understood!" No one questioned Jiang Wuming’s resolve to finish the battle quickly; every soldier shared the same hatred for the enemy, prepared to face death without fear.
That battle had affected almost everyone in the Spirit Realm, and Old Cheng and I had even fallen in cultivation level during the struggle.
Using the Golden Staff to execute such a divine technique consumed far too much energy; Lin Hai was truly struggling to bear the strain.
One must understand that Li Mei, being several years older than Li Erlong, possessed an innate, mature allure. If she were to truly let go and embrace her sensual side, it would be enough to drive anyone wild.
It could be said that this fruit could, at most, only improve Zheng Chen’s outward strength; as for his true, latent potential, the improvement would be minimal. Of course, if he were to fully refine it, the benefits would still be significant for him.
They were being far too naive; these twin-sword tigers had been arranged by Wang Erhei all along. How could they possibly allow those who had ventured deep into the heart of the territory to escape?
