Chapter 17: Mo Lie: This Is My Junior Sister
“No need for so many. Is there anything else you need? I can bring it all over at once—as a gift from me.” Qi Xuan took out only a few premium spirit stones and returned the rest to Si Nansheng.
“My junior sister lacks an alchemy furnace and spirit sword, and also needs some protective elixirs,” Mo Lie bluntly stated.
Si Nansheng swallowed the words she wanted to say but didn’t.
“Alright, got it,” Qi Xuan rolled his eyes and stood up immediately.
“Fourth senior brother, why are you preparing an alchemy furnace for me?” Si Nansheng looked at Mo Lie quietly.
“Better safe than sorry. Since it’s from him, you might as well take it,” Mo Lie replied indifferently.
Si Nansheng twitched the corner of her mouth but said nothing.
She liked gifts given freely.
However, she also saw that the relationship between Mo Lie and Qi Xuan was genuinely good.
Mo Lie urged Si Nansheng to eat some snacks, and she obediently sat and ate while planning what else she needed to prepare.
The Four Divine Sect was a bit poor; she intended to seize this opportunity to earn something.
Hmm... these snacks taste good. I wonder if I can bring some back.
“There are fifty thousand talisman papers here. I also prepared top-grade cinnabar and talisman brushes for you. Your fifth senior brother’s alchemy skills are excellent, so I didn’t prepare any elixirs for you. This sword isn’t of the highest grade, but it’s sufficient for your current use. The alchemy furnace is mid to high quality; use it first. When you can refine elixirs, Brother Qi Xuan will find you a better one.”
Qi Xuan handed everything to Si Nansheng, who was momentarily stunned.
“Brother Qi Xuan, did you make a mistake? I only need ten thousand talisman papers, and you only took a few premium spirit stones—not enough to buy all these things.”
“No worries. Consider the extra as a welcoming gift.”
“But...” This is a bit too much, isn’t it?
“Accept it. No need to be polite with him,” Mo Lie said, looking at their junior sister.
Seeing Mo Lie said that, Si Nansheng obediently thanked Qi Xuan.
“Is Nansheng going with you to the secret realm?”
Qi Xuan glanced at Mo Lie, who nodded.
He and Mo Yu were only going to accompany Si Nansheng; otherwise, they hadn’t planned to go.
“Perfect, I’m going too. Once inside, we’ll team up,” Qi Xuan smiled warmly at Si Nansheng, who returned a bright smile.
“No problem joining us, but everything must follow the junior sister’s lead,” Mo Lie said without objection, though he hadn’t forgotten that Si Nansheng planned to snatch others’ opportunities—and apparently from someone she had a grudge against.
“No problem. I’m just going in to have a look around anyway,” Qi Xuan shrugged casually.
“Brother Qi Xuan, are you hoping to find something inside to sell at the Treasure Pavilion?”
Qi Xuan wasn’t short on spirit stones, so going along must mean he wanted to find something.
“Yes. I usually have nothing to do, so entering the secret realm to find something to sell and to gain some experience makes sense.”
Qi Xuan looked at the well-behaved Si Nansheng and thought this little girl was indeed very obedient.
If he had such a junior sister, he would gladly bring her along.
However, not long after, Qi Xuan changed his mind: obedient, yes, but a bit useless.
“Brother Qi Xuan, these are the talismans I drew. Try using them first. If you think they’re good, I can provide any talismans needed for the Treasure Pavilion in the future.”
Si Nansheng handed over the talismans she had drawn before. Qi Xuan was taken aback but reached out to take them.
“You drew all these?” Mo Lie looked at Si Nansheng in surprise.
“Yes, Senior Brother taught me.”
Mo Lie was somewhat astonished; he hadn’t expected their junior sister to be a talisman cultivator.
“Put your goods up for sale at the Treasure Pavilion. Brother Qi Xuan definitely won’t let you suffer losses. We’ll split the profits sixty-forty,” Qi Xuan said, rubbing Si Nansheng’s head.
Si Nansheng: Sixty-forty? Qi Xuan, you’re quite the smooth talker.
Before she could reply, Mo Lie pushed his hand away and pulled their junior sister closer.
“What are you doing?” Qi Xuan raised an eyebrow, thinking this guy was going too far.
“She’s my junior sister,” Mo Lie said coldly.
Qi Xuan was furious. This was the second time he’d been bullied for not having a junior sister.
Really unfair!
One day, he vowed to claim this adorable little junior sister for himself.
---
“The snacks here, the junior sister likes them,” Mo Lie said to Qi Xuan.
“Got it, got it. I’ll have someone prepare some for her to take back.” Qi Xuan smiled helplessly and had plenty of snacks packed into Si Nansheng’s storage ring.
“Alright, the junior sister and I will check if there’s anything else to buy. When you’re ready to set off, come find us.”
“Okay. Junior sister, I’ll discuss the talisman matter with you once I finalize things,” Qi Xuan said helplessly, watching Si Nansheng leave with Mo Lie.
Ah, how he wished he had such a cute and obedient little sister.
On the street, Mo Lie bought some food for Si Nansheng, who also purchased many memory stones.
“Junior sister, why do you need so many memory stones?” Mo Lie asked, puzzled.
“Of course, they have a big use. Fourth senior brother will understand when the time comes,” Si Nansheng smiled mischievously at Mo Lie.
“Oh, second senior brother is very skilled. If you like memory stones, wait for him to come back and have him craft some for you.”
“All right, then I’ll have second senior brother make plenty as backups,” Si Nansheng happily took Mo Lie’s arm and began to stroll through the market.
She had never browsed like this before; the previous two times, she had rushed by.
“Si Nansheng? You’re still alive?” An irritating voice reached her ears, and her body stiffened. Her cultivation, restrained at the second level of Qi Refining, instantly vanished without a trace.
Mo Lie noticed the change and naturally shielded her behind him.
Seeing Mo Lie’s protective stance, Si Nansheng felt warmth in her heart and stepped out from behind him.
“Does my living or dying have anything to do with you?” Si Nansheng retorted bluntly, causing Shen Jingyuan’s face to darken. He wanted to confront her right then.
“Second senior brother, don’t be like this. After all, she’s still one of our sect members,” Liu Xuewei pulled him back.
“Hey, don’t try to cling to connections. I have zero relations with the Holy Heaven Sect now. I’m no longer their disciple. Didn’t anyone tell you?” Si Nansheng cut her off.
If she didn’t know, then it was a mystery. Back then, she pretended to be unconscious. Though she hadn’t witnessed Si Nansheng’s deeds firsthand, she had heard everything clearly.
“Senior sister, are you blaming me for not speaking up when I was unconscious?” Liu Xuewei looked pitifully at Si Nansheng.
“Yes,” Si Nansheng nodded.
“Senior sister, I really didn’t mean it. I was seriously injured and unconscious. When I woke up, the brothers said you had already left. Please don’t blame me,” Liu Xuewei quickly said. Upon hearing Si Nansheng confirm her words, her expression stiffened but she hurriedly continued.
“All right,” Si Nansheng nodded again.
