Upon hearing this, Tiantian He snorted, “Lin Feng, why are you so fierce? Who exactly are you being rude to?”

“People like Young Master Wang and Sister Cheng are willing to follow you because they see something in you,” she continued. “Opportunities like this are rare; many would kill for them. Don’t be ungrateful!”

She was utterly speechless inside.

Cheng Xiangyu and Wang Xingyu, being magnanimous adults, had given you another chance to curry favor with them, yet you didn’t cherish it at all. Do you really want to be poor forever?

“Shut up, just shut up!” Cheng Xiangyu suddenly interrupted, cutting off Tiantian He.

She was extremely anxious inside.

She knew very well that Lin Feng didn’t care about currying favor with them; he genuinely didn’t want them tagging along.

Wang Xingyu then said, “Lin Feng, if you think that’s too little, you can accept my previous offer: be my servant for a day, receive two hundred thousand yuan, and I’ll arrange for you to work at a big hospital.”

Lin Feng replied, “Wang Xingyu, is the real reason you want to follow me that you were bluffing earlier and can’t actually provide food and shelter for these two ladies?”

“We’ll just leave.”

With that, she intended to lead Wang Xingyu and Cheng Xiangyu away.

Cheng Xiangyu said, “Tiantian He, if you’re leaving, go ahead. But don’t take me with you.”

Then she looked at Lin Feng and continued, “Let me stay with you. Don’t worry, I’ll be obedient, work hard, and never complain.”

“I know I’m useless, but at least I can watch over the shelter when you go out to find fresh water and food.”

“And I can learn to do other things as well.”

“Besides, being alone must be very boring for you, right?”

She never imagined that a wealthy and refined young lady like Cheng Xiangyu would humble herself so completely just to stay by Lin Feng’s side, speaking so meekly.

Especially the last sentence, which sounded somewhat suggestive, as if she was willing to please Lin Feng.

But that was fine—no need to worry about Cheng Xiangyu competing with her to be Mrs. Wang.

She said, “Young Master Wang, since Cheng Xiangyu wants to stay, let her stay. We’re leaving.”

Wang Xingyu thought for a moment. Although Cheng Xiangyu was prettier than Tiantian He, she was useless, and besides, injured and unable to move well. He nodded, “Fine, let’s go.”

The two then turned and prepared to leave.

After a few steps, Wang Xingyu suddenly turned back and said, “By the way, the watch on your wrist is mine.”

Lin Feng looked at him coldly. “What did you say?”

Seeing Lin Feng’s icy expression and recalling how he mercilessly killed Yuan Shuang earlier, Wang Xingyu just smiled and waved, “Nothing, I didn’t say anything.”

After they left, Cheng Xiangyu couldn’t help but say, “Lin Feng, I think you should return the watch to Wang Xingyu.”

Lin Feng interrupted, “Return the watch? Do you want to count seconds? Can you even time accurately? Besides, Yuan Shuang stole his watch, and he didn’t make him return it. Now that the watch is with me, you want me to give it back? Do you think I’m easy to bully?”

Cheng Xiangyu replied, “I just think you shouldn’t take things too far. After all, there will be a day when we get rescued.”

Lin Feng said, “Help me watch the fire here for now. I’m going to fetch some water to cook mushrooms. I threw up all the food I just ate, and I’m hungry again.”

Wang Xingyu waved his hand. “I won’t eat it. It tastes awful. Even if I starve to death, I won’t eat it.”

But that suited Lin Feng just fine—he didn’t want them eating the fish mint anyway.

It was his emergency food supply.

Suddenly, Wang Xingyu stomped hard on the fish mint patch.

Because the soil beneath the fish mint was soft and moist, his foot pressed the plants into the dirt, making them very difficult to dig up again.
