Chapter 13: Lack of Discretion

Wang Xingyu saw that Lin Feng didn’t even bother to crouch down to accommodate him, and inwardly thought that this person truly lacked tact—a life destined for poverty. Unaccustomed to looking up at others, he took a couple of steps back to avoid having to tilt his head.
He Tian’tian quickly stepped forward, smiling brightly: “Young Master Wang, hello, my name is He Tian’tian.”
At the same time, she silently criticized Lin Feng for his lack of social grace. Not only had he shown disrespect to the eldest daughter of the Cheng family, but he had also treated the city lord’s son in the same way. Such a rare chance to curry favor with power was wasted; no wonder he was destined to be poor forever!
Wang Xingyu slightly nodded in response, maintaining a cold and aloof demeanor. Inwardly, he sighed with relief—she was much more sensible than Lin Feng.
He Tian’tian then handed over the fish mint in her hand: “Young Master Wang, please have some!”
Lin Feng was speechless. On this deserted island, food was scarce, and she was sick with a fever, yet she still offered some to others. To flatter others, she had no limits. Such people were exactly why some wealthy folks acted so arrogantly and tyrannically.
Wang Xingyu frowned as he looked at the fish mint. He had tasted it before and found its nauseating, fishy smell unbearable. He had originally wanted to reject it outright but, seeing that He Tian’tian was a girl, he maintained his gentlemanly manner and said, “Thank you, but I’ve never eaten this kind of food.”
He Tian’tian replied, “Young Master Wang, I know fish mint tastes bad, and you probably won’t want to eat it, but on this deserted island, having such food is already quite good. Please bear with it and don’t starve.”
She extended the fish mint to him again.
Wang Xingyu was dumbfounded. He had just thought she was sensible, but now she was so tactless. Did she want him to snatch the fish mint from her hand?
Yet, wanting to keep up his gentlemanly image, he politely waved his hand and said, “Thank you, but I’m not hungry.”
The moment he finished speaking, his stomach growled loudly. He had gone a whole day and night without eating and was starving.
Seeing this, Lin Feng chuckled: “Haha, He Tian’tian, do you really think that starving yourself just to give up food will make people grateful?”

“Too bad, they don’t appreciate it at all!”
He Tian’tian turned back and snorted, “Lin Feng, shut up! Young Master Wang thanked me; he just can’t eat fish mint.”
Wang Xingyu, already displeased with Lin Feng’s disrespect, grew even more annoyed upon hearing this.
He quickly said, “That’s right, I’m very grateful to He Tian’tian, but fish mint tastes terrible—I really can’t eat it.”
He then pointed a finger at Lin Feng: “And you, as a man, how can you let two beautiful women eat such disgusting food?”
“If it were me…”
Lin Feng immediately interrupted, “If it were you, then what?”
He had already figured it out.
Wang Xingyu liked to show off in front of women, often by putting down other men, so Lin Feng deliberately provoked him.
Wang Xingyu, stung, immediately put on an arrogant expression: “If it were me, I’d catch plenty of fish from the sea, trap many wild animals in the forest, and gather all kinds of delicious fruits to ensure the two beauties eat well.”
“And I’d never let them do any work, especially when they’re injured.”
Cheng Xiangyu, who had long resented Lin Feng’s orders to her, the noble little fairy, was thrilled upon hearing this: “Are you serious? You’d get us lots of food and not make us work?”
Wang Xingyu smiled and nodded: “Of course! Haven’t you heard the saying? Men earn money to support the family; women are to be as beautiful as flowers.”
“A real man should let women enjoy life and never let them suffer even a little.”
“Because every woman is an angel, born to be cherished!”
Cheng Xiangyu was delighted and praised him repeatedly: “Wang Xingyu, you’re wonderful; you’re a true man! Unlike some people who don’t know how to cherish women and are doomed to be bachelors forever!”
Lin Feng wasn’t angry at her mockery; instead, he wanted to laugh. Her words were like a godsend for him.
He said, “Haha, since you’re such a great man, why don’t you take these two away, build them a shelter to shield them from the wind and rain, and find them delicious food?”
To him, these two women were just burdens.
He Tian’tian was somewhat useful at work, but her sycophantic nature was irritating.
Huh?
Wang Xingyu was stunned.
As the city lord’s son, accustomed to a life of ease, he had no idea how to build a shelter or find food.

Cheng Xiangyu hadn’t noticed his expression and stood up: “Wang Xingyu, come help me walk. I’ve long since not wanted to be with Lin Feng.”
He Tian’tian said, “Young Master Wang, please wait a moment. The medicine will be ready soon; I’ll finish drinking it and then leave with you.”
She had thought it over. Although Lin Feng was skilled in medicine, agile, and experienced in survival, he was just a poor medical student doing part-time work. Following him offered no future.
Unlike Wang Xingyu, the city lord’s son.
If she took good care of him and they were rescued, there would be great benefits to gain.
Moreover, Wang Xingyu was so considerate of women, unwilling to let them suffer.
Huh?
Wang Xingyu was completely taken aback, his face awkward and trapped.
He had come here after seeing smoke, hoping to find someone to ask for help.
He hadn’t expected things to turn out this way.
But for the sake of face and to show off in front of women, he dared not back down.
Wang Xingyu thought for a moment and then looked at Lin Feng: “Kid, even though you lack tact and don’t know how to respect me, I’m a magnanimous person and won’t hold it against you.”
“As long as you kneel down, admit your mistake, and apologize, I might reluctantly consider making you my dog.”
Then he straightened up again, wearing a proud expression.
He was confident Lin Feng would comply.
However, Lin Feng was utterly speechless and refused without hesitation: “Sorry, I would never be anyone’s dog!”
Wang Xingyu misheard and thought Lin Feng agreed, saying, “Hurry and kneel down, admit your mistake, and apologize…”
Lin Feng grew even more exasperated and interrupted sharply: “Are your ears deaf? I said I would never be anyone’s dog!”
“What? What did you say?”
Wang Xingyu exclaimed repeatedly, utterly incredulous.
“You actually refused me?”
He Tian’tian couldn’t help but snort: “Lin Feng, how could you be so foolish, refusing to be Young Master Wang’s dog? Do you know how many people in Haicheng would fight for such an opportunity? Don’t be ungrateful; kneel down and apologize quickly…”
