Chapter 31: Don’t Pose as a Paragon of Virtue

This was a fairly well-known women’s clothing store. Of course, the brand’s main products were not clothes, but handbags and perfume...
Naturally, its clothes were not especially attractive.
Still, when clothes were worn, their appeal did not always depend on the clothes themselves. Sometimes, it depended on the person wearing them.
Just like now.
Rena Sakura had changed into a pale-blue dress, with a delicate little necklace resting against her neck. It brought out her gentle, artistic beauty to striking effect.
Standing before her, Kitahara looked her over, a glimmer of interest in his eyes.
The hem of the dress was not very long. It ended ten centimeters above her knees, revealing her greatest asset: those long, lovely, perfectly straight thighs.
There was a pleasing fullness to her legs, their contours traced by gleaming white stockings...
Without a doubt, they were magnificent legs.
The only flaw was that those otherwise flawless legs were marred by numerous faint red marks, as though someone had mistreated them.
Passersby who had been strolling casually through the store could not help showing pained expressions when they noticed those subtle marks.
Who, exactly, had been so rough with those beautiful legs?
Kitahara’s gaze shifted and slowly traveled downward. As though sensing where he was looking, Rena blushed and lightly tugged at her skirt.
She was embarrassed.
But it was not because the skirt was too short. It was because Kitahara’s gaze was so aggressive that she feared he might reach out the next moment without restraint and ravage her all over again.
He had no sense of gentleness whatsoever. He certainly did not know how to treat a beauty with care.
“Your girlfriend looks absolutely stunning in this,” the saleswoman said, lavish with her praise. Turning toward Kitahara, she fawned shamelessly. “She looks just like a princess from a historical drama...”
“A princess? That’s an interesting comparison.” Kitahara smiled.
Rena Sakura truly was a princess, just not one from a castle. She was a princess of the nightclub.
The saleswoman thought she had struck the right note and hurried to add, “A girl like her can pull off almost anything. Would you like to see how she looks in some other outfits?”
At that, Rena’s eyes lit up with longing.
She adored what she was wearing... She loved the price, she loved the brand, and if there were other choices available, she certainly did not mind trying them on.
“Bring them over.” Kitahara glanced at the price.
Six hundred thousand yen.
A necklace, a dress, and a complimentary handbag together cost six hundred thousand yen.
The price of luxury goods was truly enough to make one’s jaw drop.
Still...
Whether something was worth that price was not for him to decide. It was determined by the collective consensus of the wealthy.
Much like cryptocurrency.

As long as someone believed in its value, it was valuable... In the eyes of girls, luxury goods from this brand were much like a Maybach in the hearts of men.
What man could see a Maybach and resist taking it out onto the expressway on a rainy day, just to enjoy himself?
Rena Sakura happily came to Kitahara’s side and said with her small face tilted upward, “I checked the prices. They’re so expensive... One dress costs six hundred thousand yen.”
“Even if I only looked at them, I couldn’t afford them.”
“Why don’t we just leave?”
What she meant was that the two of them clearly did not have the status to be shopping here, so they ought to run while they could.
To a wealthy man, that would be an unbearable humiliation.
Kitahara guessed what she was thinking and chuckled inwardly, but cooperated by putting on an angry expression.
“I told you to change, so change! Why are you making so much fuss? Don’t embarrass me when we’re out!”
“Do I look like someone who can’t afford this cheap stuff?”
“Get over there!”
The saleswoman looked between them, somewhat stunned.
She had assumed they were lovers who were deeply in sync with each other. Instead, they looked more like... a wealthy patron and his kept woman.
Did high school students these days really play this wildly...?
Rena Sakura put on an aggrieved expression, pouting slightly. “All right, I understand... Don’t be angry. I’ll change.”
She walked toward the racks, pretending to be reluctant and dejected.
Inwardly, however, she was already celebrating.
Once a man’s competitive spirit had been provoked, he would pay up for the sake of his pride, even if he had not originally intended to spend the money... Besides, after he bought the clothes, they would be of no use to him. Kitahara was not a girl, and they would not fit him. In the end, they would naturally belong to her.
Delighted, she went to change clothes. She selected items from the dazzling rows of garments and admired her beautiful reflection in the full-length mirror.
After casually picking out three or four pieces, Rena Sakura glanced at the prices, and her hands began to tremble.
Those few clothes alone were nearly a million yen. Her father’s monthly salary was only a little over four hundred thousand.
She swallowed and looked back at Kitahara, her gaze growing even more tender.
What a promising catch...
If he was willing to spend money on her every day, that would be wonderful.
“Is that all?” Kitahara gave the selection a quick glance and said indifferently, “Why not pick out a few more?”
“More?”
Kitahara’s generosity left Rena Sakura’s mouth dry. She asked in disbelief, “Isn’t this enough?”
“Since you’re choosing, take your time and look around.”
The saleswoman frowned slightly at Kitahara’s ostentatious manner, but the customer was always king. Judging by the garment boxes he was carrying, he was clearly wealthy, and she could not afford to offend him.
The men’s clothing store next door was no cheaper than theirs.
She had to seize this opportunity.

Kitahara personally picked out several more items. Along the way, he did not forget to ask about the sizes. After the saleswoman answered carefully, he handed the clothes to Rena Sakura.
“Go try them on. Show me once you’re done.”
Rena Sakura stood at the entrance to the fitting room and suddenly said softly, “It’s so cold outside. I’ll be uncomfortable coming out after I change... Why don’t you come in and watch?”
“Oh?” Kitahara was surprised. “Would that be appropriate?”
“What would be inappropriate? Besides, the two of us are...” Rena Sakura hesitated awkwardly, then put on the innocent expression of a young girl. Tilting her face upward, she smiled. “Come on. It’s a little cold outside.”
The saleswoman’s lips twitched.
That was slander!
Absolutely slander!
The store’s heating had never been turned off. Rena Sakura had merely opened and closed her mouth, yet she was already claiming it was cold. That was an outright insult to the store’s service, and now she wanted to go into the fitting room to watch him—did she really think the saleswoman could not tell what she was planning?
This woman was no simple character.
Still, no matter how many complaints she had, she did not voice a single one. After all, the wealthy patron was standing right beside her.
Kitahara was taken aback. He had not expected this scheming beauty to catch on so quickly.
She had finally understood that if she wanted to obtain something, she had to be willing to give something in return.
A lesson no ordinary person could have taught her, she had learned instinctively after being dazzled by the splendor of capitalism.
“All right.”
Kitahara was not some innocent virgin. At the very least, that was not the image he presented to the outside world.
He entered the fitting room. It was fairly spacious, large enough for two or three people without any trouble. Kitahara found a chair and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. Then he looked up and gestured for Rena Sakura to begin her performance.
Rena Sakura blushed shyly and said, “I’m a little embarrassed. Could you stop staring at me?”
“...?”
Had he come here to watch her pretend to be a virtuous woman while acting like a prostitute?
If she was going to undress, then she should hurry up. If not, she could get out.
Kitahara’s expression darkened.
