Chapter 14: Fourteen Whales

Jin Xuan certainly could not understand Wen Fan’s behavior. In her eyes, President Wen was elegant, aloof, and glamorous—perfectly fitting the domineering CEO archetype from the novel Tianliang Wangpo. But out in public, she had to maintain her boss’s dignity: “Oh dear, President Wen, this young lady’s palm is dirty; just wipe it clean with a tissue. Please don’t worry.”
Jing Chengyun accepted the tissue with a smile and thanked her: “Indeed, the palm is dirty—probably touched something near the trash bin.” Yet her gaze toward Wen Fan was playful and teasing, as if silently asking, “Feeling restless again?”
Wen Fan turned his face away, calmly concealing every emotion. His social status forbade any loss of composure in public, yet his love for Jing Chengyun made him endure any humiliation she might inflict.
Sweat beaded on his palm as he held onto memories of the past, masking the turbulent emotions beneath. Suddenly, he asked Jin Xuan, “It’s almost time for work. Aren’t you going to the company?”
Perhaps the boss always had the privilege of being late. Jin Xuan dared not contradict her superior; she grabbed the dog leash, ready to leave.
But Lucky wasn’t done playing. The little dog instantly took a liking to Jing Chengyun, pawing at Miss Jing’s sneakers.
Jing Chengyun smiled: “Lucky doesn’t want to leave?”
Jin Xuan was nearly moved to tears. To keep her job today, she was willing to do anything: “Lucky and Miss, you’re so fated! How about we exchange contact info and become friends? Then you can play with Lucky anytime.”
Jing Chengyun considered it: If she agreed, she’d gain a new friend and a super cute dog to pet; if not... nothing lost or gained.
“Alright! We’re friends from now on!” she said.
Out of Jing Chengyun’s sight, Wen Fan gave his assistant a subtle nod, and Jin Xuan responded with a smile.

Since breaking up with Wen Fan, Jing Chengyun hadn’t ridden in such a luxury car. Although Chen Ji’s family was well-off, he was in a different league from Wen Fan.
But it didn’t matter. Jing Chengyun believed that soon she would own a car of the same caliber.
As soon as she settled onto the genuine leather seat, she spoke: “Wen Fan, do you know anyone looking to buy a house? I have an apartment in Egret County I want to sell for two million.”
Wen Fan lowered his window in surprise. He had no idea when his ex-girlfriend had acquired a property in Egret County. A few seconds later, Jing Chengyun answered her own question:
“My boyfriend—Chen Ji from our school, vice president of the photography club—you’ve heard of him, right? He passed away recently and left his inheritance to me, including the apartment in Egret County.”
Wen Fan’s breath caught. That Chen Ji was truly devoted; Wen Fan had never misjudged him: “Sell it to me for five million. I’ll buy it.”
“You?” Jing Chengyun exclaimed in surprise. “Stop joking—you’re not short of property. I’m serious. Besides, Egret County’s market value isn’t five million. You’d be overpaying.”
Wen Fan didn’t joke. Every action related to Jing Chengyun was sincere and earnest: “Yun Yun, I won’t use grandiose reasons to deceive you. I want to buy your property to add to your wealth because without you, I wouldn’t be who I am today. This is my way of repaying you.”
Five million Blue Star credits was a lucrative deal hard to resist. Supporting her conscience, Jing Chengyun reminded him again: “Think it through. Even if you’re not short of money, don’t waste it.”
Wen Fan’s resolve was firm: “I’ve thought it through.”
In that case, he had done his utmost.
Wen Fan was pleased to hear Jing Chengyun say “Alright,” smiling genuinely: “Thank you, Yun Yun.”
“Thank me for what?” After three years apart, Jing Chengyun had mostly forgotten Wen Fan’s personality, remembering only a few traits.
Her first love was exceptionally intelligent, perceptive, athletic, and had some peculiar quirks...
Wen Fan explained: “Thank you for giving me the chance to do something for you.”
Jing Chengyun remained silent, trying to recall what he had done for her, only to realize almost all his “contributions” were financial.
Some people treat money like dirt, but Jing Chengyun believed that sometimes love is where the money is. Goodness, she shook her head in awe—Wen Fan had truly loved her deeply.

The next morning, Jing Chengyun had successfully completed her dental filling. The doctor advised that if she experienced pain afterward, the law did not forbid using demon arts for pain relief.

By noon, Jing Chengyun and Wen Fan were enjoying a seafood feast together. Watching her ex peel shrimp for her, she thought to herself, Wen Fan was most handsome when begging her tearfully to spend his money.
After the meal, they went to Egret County.
As a rather expensive development, Egret County boasted excellent amenities. For Jing Chengyun, from an ordinary family, it was the most upscale place she had ever set foot in.
But to Wen Fan, the apartment was unremarkable except for its greenery. No matter—finding a suitable excuse to wire five million into Yun Yun’s account was the priority.
After Chen Ji’s passing, the family’s furnishings remained untouched. Since the house was entrusted to Jing Chengyun, even Chen’s relatives hadn’t entered. She had only hired someone once for cleaning to prepare the sale.
“The lighting is good; suitable for plants that like sunlight,” Wen Fan commented as he passed the coffee table. His expression darkened when he saw a close photo of Jing Chengyun and Chen Ji, and he flipped the frame face down.
Chen Ji had died too untimely. That kind, devoted man who valued chastity and honor was rare. Otherwise, Wen Fan wouldn’t have rushed to push Su Zile to seduce Jing Chengyun...
Minor matters. If that failed, Wen Fan could handle it himself. If that too failed, the virgin male model he trained could be put to use.
Today’s weather was gloomy, and the room was dim. Wen Fan leaned against the window, casting even less light on Jing Chengyun.
The only advantage was that Jing Chengyun could unabashedly admire Wen Fan’s figure in the shadows.
Her first love was indeed handsome—long legs, slender waist, strong yet slender fingers—otherwise she wouldn’t have fallen for him: “Wen Fan, what are you carrying?”
Today, Wen Fan had a shopping bag.
Uncomfortable, he shrugged. Knowing Jing Chengyun well, he understood how difficult reconciliation would be—whales don’t eat their own kind again.
That was why he arranged for his cousin to pry Jing Chengyun away. If she was happy, he need not intervene yet could remain content.
But could he... just a little longer indulge in this foolish hope? Even if not as her official boyfriend.
“It’s something you like,” Wen Fan said, waving his hand. With a flow of spiritual energy, the curtains in the living room slowly closed, dimming the light.
Rarely nervous, even trembling fingers, he slowly took something from the bag.
A black studded collar.
Engraved inside were the words: “Jing Chengyun’s dog.”
Jing Chengyun gasped incredulously: “You still have this? You brought it here—what, to sleep with me?”
Blushing faintly, Wen Fan nodded stiffly, voice barely audible: “I couldn’t bear to throw it away. Yun Yun, please play with me. I beg you.”
Jing Chengyun’s charm-induced symptoms had long healed; the possibility of being bewitched was greatly reduced, so her next moves came from her true feelings.
She lifted Wen Fan’s chin, leaned in close, and breathed out the sweet scent of green tea mouthwash: “President Wen, you seem pure and detached on the surface, but actually... Not sure what W&D employees would think seeing you like this...”
Jing Chengyun paused, rusty from disuse: “What would they think?”
She rummaged through the bag, pulling out items one by one.
A chest harness, waist belt, leg rings, a strangely shaped lock, and a thin little leather whip.
All things used three years ago.
Jing Chengyun smiled: “You’re quite something. In these three years since we broke up, haven’t you sometimes gotten itchy and found someone else to whip you? President Wen?”
“I haven’t, nor would I dare,” Wen Fan said, shedding his suit jacket and lowering his gaze. “Only you can whip me. Yun Yun, the tattoo on my leg is still there.”
Those words sparked a thrill in Jing Chengyun’s eyes. Her fingers deftly moved to his waist belt, revealing the small tattoo near his thigh.
The same words as on the collar: “Jing Chengyun’s dog.”
Jing Chengyun believed she wasn’t generally inclined toward S&M. When she dated Chen Ji, their relationship was quite normal, without fantasies of whipping or candle play.
Their cheerful personalities likely contributed, but Wen Fan’s unusual fetish ultimately led to their breakup.
She never understood how such twisted dynamics developed or what purpose perverse couple interactions served once novelty faded.
She preferred swimming with her lover, sunbathing on seaside rocks, sharing marine discoveries and work anecdotes—not hearing a dog demon kneel at her feet, barking.
One day, fed up with Wen Fan’s kink and the pleasure it brought him, she ended their first romance.
Three years later, Jing Chengyun’s mindset had changed greatly.
Wen Fan was no longer the same—he was now a billionaire tycoon, the exalted President Wen, a famed businessman on Blue Star, no longer the naive college student.
Mocking someone at the pinnacle of society—wouldn’t that be even more satisfying than teasing a college boy? And it was fresh and exciting!
Playing this once would give her memories to savor for years.
“Let’s be clear. Me playing with you doesn’t mean we’re getting back together. If I get bored, I’ll stop. Got it?” Jing Chengyun was as frank as a whale. After saying this, she suddenly became serious:
“Wen Fan, kneel.”
As if by reflex, Wen Fan didn’t hesitate and dropped to his knees.
“Take off your clothes, put all these on.”
Wen Fan promptly shed his garments, donning the collar, waist belt, leg rings, and that strange lock.
“Good doggy, you get a head pat as a reward.” Jing Chengyun stroked his head, and Wen Fan leaned in, resting his head gently on her lap.
Jing Chengyun clicked her tongue, signaling Wen Fan to kneel further away so she had space to wield the whip.
He obeyed.
Smack—sound of the whip striking flesh.
In truth, these were just couple’s playthings—few strikes for show. But Wen Fan was excited, eyes sparkling, tears flowing beautifully: “Wah...”
He was now a dog—unable to speak, unable to cry out, only howling softly.
Soon, four or five whip marks appeared on his chest. He owed Jing Chengyun’s ample whipping experience for sparing his face from disfigurement—he couldn’t face his subordinates otherwise.
Jing Chengyun struck twice more but realized her enthusiasm waning. Then she understood why: Wen Fan had shed his suit, losing the symbol of his status.
If he wore the suit again, how would she play?
She paused her actions, deep in thought.
Soon, she smiled: “Put your clothes back on. Don’t you have a meeting this afternoon?”
Only Jing Chengyun forbade Wen Fan from removing the collar and other accessories: “Don’t forget you’re wearing the collar. Don’t undo your shirt collar lightly, or everyone will know you’re my dog.”
“...Not even unlock the lock?” Wen Fan asked.
“Of course not.” The lock had remote control; only the remote could unlock it. Jing Chengyun slipped the remote into her pocket, chuckling softly.
Wen Fan was stunned, not understanding the meaning behind her smile.
*
Two o’clock in the afternoon, W&D company meeting room.
Wen Fan’s role-shifting skills were superb. He never treated the scars Jing Chengyun left as wounds; they excited him. He could even recall the whip’s sting.
Looking up, everything around him snapped him back. He was Wen Fan, CEO of W&D, feared and respected by all. When he spoke, the room fell silent as if a needle had dropped.
“President Wen? It’s your turn to speak,” assistant Jin Xuan whispered.
Wen Fan responded with a delayed “Oh,” about to speak when his face suddenly went pale.
The lock on his body vibrated once.
No, not here!
