Chapter Fifteen: All Injustices Washed Away

Everyone held their breath, all eyes fixed on Fei Duan. She gripped the evidence firmly and ascended the stage with steady, resolute steps. Below, Xiao Sun’s face was as pale as paper, her hands clenched tightly, cold sweat pouring down, as if she already sensed the storm about to break. Fei Duan stood still, scanning the room with a piercing gaze that seemed to see through every soul.
Clearing her throat, she spoke with a calm yet powerful voice, “Today, I will reveal a truth—about myself, and about Xiao Sun.” A murmur rippled through the hall; colleagues whispered among themselves, speculating what earth-shattering secret she might disclose.
Xiao Sun trembled slightly but summoned her courage to stand and retort, “Fei Duan, this is slander! How could I ever frame you?” Fei Duan sneered coldly, her eyes icy as they swept over Xiao Sun. “Listen carefully, Xiao Sun. Every detail, every piece of evidence—I have it all documented.”
She then pulled out sheets of evidence from her folder, displaying each one for all to see. From forged work reports to deliberately spread rumors, each piece was like a sharpened blade piercing through Xiao Sun’s web of lies.
Fei Duan’s voice rang out like thunder through the room: “This entire scheme was meticulously planned by you, all to replace me at North Group.” Xiao Sun’s face drained of color, lips trembling as she stammered, “This... is all a misunderstanding. I never thought such things!”
Fei Duan's eyes narrowed, a bitter smile curling her lips. “A misunderstanding? If you’re innocent, why are you afraid to face the evidence? Why refuse to confront it?” Xiao Sun was thrown into utter chaos, her gaze filled with panic and despair. The colleagues around sneered at her, some whispering, “So this is how devious Xiao Sun really is. No wonder Fei Duan never gave in.”
Seeing this, Fei Duan continued, “I have proof of all this. President Bei Mo has received copies. If you confess now, perhaps leniency will be granted. Otherwise, the law will deal with you severely.”
Xiao Sun broke down completely, finally bowing her head and choking out an admission, “I... I was wrong. I will turn myself in.” Silence fell over the room; everyone was stunned by the sudden revelation.
Fei Duan stood tall on the stage, her gaze unwavering, like a queen who had thoroughly cleansed her name.

Yet just as she was about to declare the meeting adjourned, Bei Mo suddenly appeared at the door, his eyes deep and meaningful.
“Fei Duan,” Bei Mo’s voice was low and commanding, “we still have things to discuss.” Fei Duan’s heart quickened as she nodded and followed him out of the conference room.
Walking side by side down the company hallway, the tension lingered, but now a flicker of hope and determination glowed within Fei.
Back in the conference room, Fei Duan smiled coldly, holding a USB drive. “Sorry to keep everyone waiting. The real show is just beginning.” She plugged it into the projector, revealing Xiao Sun’s carefully forged emails, chat logs, and surveillance footage of her covert data tampering—laid bare before all.
“Xiao Sun, anything left to say?” Fei’s gaze was as sharp as a blade, fixed on the pale-faced woman.
Xiao Sun slumped in her chair, lips trembling, unable to utter a word. The truth exposed, her previous arrogance vanished, replaced by endless regret and fear.
The reversal swept through the crowd like a whirlwind, eliciting exclamations of awe and disbelief. Fei Duan dismissed her with a glance and turned to HR: “Do you really want to keep such a troublemaker through the new year?”
HR understood immediately, announcing Xiao Sun’s dismissal and the initiation of legal proceedings. Xiao Sun was escorted away by security, her defeated figure pitifully reminiscent of a battered hen.
“Fei Duan, you’ve truly done a great service!” the executives exclaimed, shaking her hand enthusiastically. They promptly appointed her as lead on a major project and bestowed generous rewards.
Fei stood on the stage, basking in applause and envious glances—queenly in every sense.
At that moment, she wanted to declare: I am the queen, radiating confidence and brilliance!
Below, Bei Mo watched the dazzling Fei Duan, feelings tangled and complex. He had been deceived by Xiao Sun’s lies and wronged Fei with harsh words...
Taking a deep breath, Bei Mo strode toward her. Colleagues discreetly stepped aside, leaving space, the air thick with subtle tension.
“Fei Duan...” Bei Mo began, but she cut him off coldly. “President Bei, is there something else? I’m quite busy.”

Bei Mo was taken aback, his throat tightening as if choked. He knew he had hurt her deeply; making amends would not be easy.
He reached out to touch Fei Duan, but she deftly evaded him.
Turning away, she left him with nothing but a resolute back.
Watching her retreating figure, Bei Mo was overwhelmed by an indescribable ache.
He knew he had to do something.
Clenching his fist tightly, Bei Mo spoke again, his voice low and hoarse.
Taking a steadying breath, he summoned courage and, before everyone, apologized once more: “Fei Duan, I’m sorry. I was wrong. Will you give me a chance to trust me again?”
Fei Duan hesitated briefly; the surrounding colleagues held their breath, the atmosphere charged with tension and hope.
Her gaze softened gradually as she finally nodded, “I hope this is the last time.”
They embraced amid warm applause; their relationship seemed profoundly healed, as if past conflicts had vanished.
Yet just as everyone believed happiness was certain, Fei Duan spoke again: “Bei Mo, I want to leave North Group and start my own business.”
Bei Mo’s eyes brightened momentarily before dimming. He hadn’t expected such resolve from her, and those nearby were equally surprised; the decision shattered the recently restored harmony.
Fei Duan turned and walked away; Bei Mo watched her back, unsure how to hold her back.
As Fei faced challenges of funding shortages and venue hurdles in her startup journey, Bei Mo confronted new business trials at the company—their future clouded with uncertainty.
Standing before the door of her new venture, Fei Duan dialed Bei Mo’s number thoughtfully: “Bei Mo, some things are better said face to face.”
