Chapter 34: Hey, Dad, I need you to take care of someone for me!
"I refuse," Liu Sisi said, her tone firm.
Qian Hao gave a lewd smile, his eyes glinting with a touch of amusement. "Is the money not enough? I suppose so. I heard Jiang Jin bought you a Ferrari and a Patek Philippe, so a two-million-a-year salary really isn't much to look at."
"Let me make another offer: ten million a year. How about it? Be my personal assistant for a year."
The onlookers let out another gasp.
"Even if you offered me a hundred million a year, it would be useless," Liu Sisi replied. "There is no way I am becoming your assistant!"
This wasn't about the money; it was about character. Furthermore, Qian Hao was repulsive just to look at, and Liu Sisi had no desire to have any association with such a person.
"The hell? Liu Sisi, you're refusing to show me respect!"
Embarrassed and enraged, Qian Hao turned and gave a signal to several thugs nearby. The thugs understood his intent, cracking their knuckles as they walked toward Liu Sisi.
"You... what are you doing? Don't come any closer, or else—"
Before Liu Sisi could finish her sentence, Jiang Jin pulled her aside.
"You've done well enough," Jiang Jin said with a smile, patting her shoulder. "Leave the rest to me."
Liu Sisi was filled with anxiety. "Boss, there are too many of them."
Jiang Jin smiled indifferently. "No matter how many there are, they are nothing more than clowns."
The crowd exchanged bewildered glances. The seven thugs looked fierce, while Jiang Jin was just a pampered boss—where did he get the confidence to call them clowns?
"Damn, you looking down on us?"
"Jiang, are you trying to provoke us into beating you harder?"
"Hmph, we've been roaming these streets for years. You think we can't see through your little tricks?"
"Brothers, stop wasting breath on him. Aim carefully—don't beat him to death!"
The seven thugs sneered and charged toward Jiang Jin in a semi-circle. The next moment, the thug in the lead reached Jiang Jin and threw a punch straight at his face. The other six arrived a split second later, raining blows upon him!
Liu Sisi closed her eyes in terror, her heart in her throat. Qian Hao stared intently, eyes filled with madness, eager to see Jiang Jin beaten to the ground. The onlookers didn't even dare to breathe, breaking into a cold sweat for Jiang Jin.
Jiang Jin, however, stood his ground. He made no move to dodge, appearing as though he were frozen in fear.
"A bunch of idiots."
At the critical moment, Jiang Jin shook his head with a sneer and struck out with lightning speed!
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
Seven dull thuds echoed, and all seven thugs who had charged at Jiang Jin were sent flying backward!
*Thud!*
After hitting the ground, the seven men rolled around, howling in agony. Silence fell over the entire scene.
"Hiss—" It was a long moment before the sound of sharp intakes of breath filled the air. No one had expected this outcome. The seven thugs, who had looked so vicious, were as fragile as infants before the pampered Jiang Jin.
"No way, even kicking seven infants wouldn't be this fast! Is Jiang Jin some kind of martial arts master?"
"Is this like a male lead in a kung fu movie?"
"Good grief, are you talking about the kind of kung fu in those Wong Fei-hung movies?"
"Even Wong Fei-hung couldn't reach this level in the films. It was too fast; I didn't even see how he struck."
"Jiang Jin feels like a master from a wuxia novel."
"Exactly! A speed that the eye can't even capture—that’s insane!"
The crowd exclaimed in awe, and some of the women began to look at Jiang Jin with newfound admiration.
*(The bystanders think the boss is a martial arts master? They've got it all wrong!)*
In her confusion, the beautiful secretary opened her eyes. When she saw the situation, she was stunned speechless.
"My god... Boss, did you beat all of them?" Liu Sisi asked, turning to Jiang Jin in shock.
Jiang Jin gave a helpless shrug. "I didn't expect them to be so fragile."
This was his first time using his internal energy, and he was lucky he had only used one-tenth of his strength, or these men wouldn't just be rolling on the ground.
"Wow, Boss, you're amazing!" Liu Sisi was instantly smitten.
Jiang Jin's mouth twitched. Goodness, the praise from his beautiful secretary was almost too much!
"Damn it, how are you so good at fighting?" Qian Hao finally snapped out of his shock, screaming in terror. Fan Jingjing hid behind him, afraid that Jiang Jin might come over and slap her next.
Jiang Jin smirked and took a step toward Qian Hao. Qian Hao flinched, instinctively retreating a step, but realizing how cowardly that looked, he gathered his courage and stood his ground.
Jiang Jin gave a mocking laugh, slowly walking up to Qian Hao and stopping right in front of him, staring coldly into his eyes.
His gaze was like a sword!
Qian Hao’s pupils constricted, and he reflexively wanted to look away, but his pride forced him to glare back. He sneered, "What? You still dare to hit me in front of so many—"
Jiang Jin raised his hand and slapped Qian Hao across the face, cutting his words short.
The crowd gasped again!
*Goodness, that was brutal!*
"That's Qian Hao, the young master of the Qian family! How does Jiang Jin dare to slap him?"
Liu Sisi covered her mouth with her hand, almost letting out a scream.
Qian Hao looked on in disbelief. "You dare to hit—"
Jiang Jin slapped him again.
"Do you want to guess if I dare to hit you again?"
Qian Hao’s expression shifted rapidly, and he finally gritted his teeth. "You..."
As soon as the word "you" left his lips, Jiang Jin raised his right hand again, motioning to strike.
"Yes, you dare! You dare to hit me, are you happy now?"
Jiang Jin slapped him once more. "Your tone is a bit too arrogant. I don't like it."
*He slapped him just because his tone was arrogant? That’s the kind of arrogance only a top young master from the Imperial Capital would show!*
"Jiang Jin, I spoke out of turn. I apologize!" Qian Hao took a deep breath, offering a sincere apology. He had realized that Jiang Jin was a total maniac; who knew what he would do if he kept pushing? A step back would open up the sky—once he fooled Jiang Jin, he could mobilize his family's power to take devastating revenge!
"That's more like it." Jiang Jin shook his hand and looked toward Fan Jingjing. "Hey, you still haven't apologized to my friend."
"Huh?" Fan Jingjing blinked, stunned.
"Huh what? Hurry up and apologize to Miss Liu!" Qian Hao kicked her, looking thoroughly annoyed. It was all because of this idiot woman that he had been humiliated in public.
"Ah, oh, right. I'm sorry, Miss Liu. It was my fault earlier. Please forgive me." Fan Jingjing finally came to her senses and rushed to apologize to Liu Sisi.
Liu Sisi nodded. "Fine. How much did your dress cost? I'll pay you for it."
Jiang Jin silently gave her a thumbs up. Acknowledging one's mistakes—in that regard, his beautiful secretary still had a good moral compass.
"Uh, this..." Fan Jingjing hesitated, looking at Qian Hao.
Qian Hao roared, "What 'this'? Of course you don't take money from Miss Liu!" *This idiot woman, I’ve already been slapped in the face, and you still want to ask for money?*
Jiang Jin said with a blank expression, "If it needs to be paid for, it should be paid for."
Qian Hao's expression shifted slightly, and he nodded at Fan Jingjing.
Fan Jingjing spoke up, "When I bought this dress, it cost 30,000..."
Qian Hao almost rolled his eyes, a wave of frustration and helplessness washing over him. "30,000 what? What 30,000? It was 300! It’s a knock-off!"
Qian Hao was almost moved to tears by Fan Jingjing's stupidity. Liu Sisi couldn't help but look at the dress closely; the tailoring looked decent and the fabric felt textured—how could it be a knock-off worth only 300 yuan? *(I really want to ask where Qian Hao bought it so I can get a few myself later.)*
Jiang Jin sneered, "You’re quite self-aware."
Given Fan Jingjing’s atrocious attitude from the start, he had no intention of paying full price. Qian Hao’s admission had just saved him the trouble. He pulled three hundred-yuan bills from his wallet, shoved them into Fan Jingjing’s hand, and led Liu Sisi away from the night market.
After the two disappeared into the crowd, Qian Hao pushed his way out. Once he reached a secluded spot, he dialed a number at home.
"Hello, Dad? You need to take care of someone for me!"
