Chapter Fourteen: The Attentive Azure Phoenix
Turning his head to look, two security guards at the entrance glared fiercely at Qin Feng, their tone hostile.
“Oh?”
Qin Feng paused, smiling slightly. “This Wolong Bank is open for business—are people not allowed to come in?”
Hearing this, one of the guards sized Qin Feng up from head to toe with disdain. “Kid, don’t you know? Wolong Bank only deals with two kinds of clients.”
“Either top-tier large corporations, for whom we safeguard wealth, or the private assets of the world’s wealthiest tycoons, celebrities, and dignitaries.”
“Look in the mirror—are you one of our clients?”
Wolong Bank handled only high-level business. At this moment, all the people coming and going were elegantly dressed, exuding an air of distinction.
But Qin Feng was in sportswear and sneakers—utterly ordinary.
Qin Feng smiled. “I’m not a client. I’m here to see someone.”
“Who?”
“The head of this bank, Qing Luan,” Qin Feng replied nonchalantly.
“Haha!”
The two guards burst into laughter. “Kid, do you want to kill us with laughter? Qing Luan is a person of such stature—she’s not someone any Tom, Dick, or Harry can just meet.”
“Every day, hundreds of people in Yunhai try to see her. They don’t even get a chance standing in line!”
“Who do you think you are?”
Qin Feng couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’m different—I know her.”
“Get lost, then, and go where it’s cooler!”
The guards saw Qin Feng as a braggart nobody and impatiently tried to drive him away. “Stop wasting our time. Looking like a loser, and you think you know Qing Luan?”
“Scram, or don’t blame us for being rude!”
The commotion drew the attention of many passersby.
Soon, a man in a sleek black suit with slicked-back hair strode over briskly.
“What’s going on here?”
“Making a fuss at the entrance?!”
The two guards immediately bowed low upon seeing him.
This man was Wang Yong, Qing Luan’s secretary. His status needed no introduction.
“Secretary Wang!”
“This kid came causing trouble, claiming he knows Qing Luan, and refuses to leave. We’re trying to get rid of him!”
“Who says that?”
Qin Feng shook his head calmly. “I do know Qing Luan. Why would I lie?”
“You?”
Wang Yong glanced at Qin Feng with a sneer.
“Do you know who Qing Luan is?”
“She’s hailed as the world’s most successful woman in business—highly respected and stunningly beautiful. Countless men see her as their dream woman.”
“A loser like you, stop daydreaming!”
“Go home and get some sleep!”
Seeing Qin Feng’s plain clothes and hearing his claim, Wang Yong assumed he was just one of Qing Luan’s many admirers.
He found the idea laughable.
After all, as her secretary, he was always by her side, doing everything to curry favor—and he was quite handsome.
Yet even with him, Qing Luan remained unmoved.
How could she be interested in a loser like this?
Truly a toad lusting after a swan’s flesh!
“Forget it.”
Qin Feng was tired of arguing and took out his phone.
“Qing Luan,” he said simply. “I’m right outside the bank. Come down and meet me.”
Seeing this, Wang Yong and the guards laughed scornfully, treating Qin Feng like a clown.
“Whoa!”
“This kid’s really putting on airs now!”
“Some nobody like him, getting Qing Luan’s number and expecting her to pick him up personally... Does he even realize how ridiculous he looks? Ha!”
“If Qing Luan really comes down?” Qin Feng calmly pocketed his phone and asked.
“Hmph.”
Wang Yong snorted in contempt. “If you can really get her down, I’ll apologize to you! But if you can’t, you owe me a dog’s bark on your knees!”
“Dare to try, kid?”
Qin Feng smiled.
The secretary was bold, but Qing Luan was Qin Feng’s subordinate—and the entire Wolong Bank belonged to him!
“Alright.”
Qin Feng took it as a game and nodded. “Deal!”
Wang Yong was dismissive.
The two guards wore faces full of amusement.
They didn’t believe this kid could actually summon Qing Luan with a phone call; instead, he was about to be humiliated, forced to kneel and bark like a dog.
Soon after, a stir erupted in the bank’s lobby.
A group of Wolong Bank’s senior management swiftly approached.
Leading them was a tall, striking woman in formal attire.
Her skin was as white as snow, her beauty unparalleled yet cold as ice.
Like an iceberg beauty—only to be admired from afar, untouchable.
Her every gesture radiated an aura of supreme authority and decisive power.
Even the top tycoons of high society paled in comparison to her commanding presence.
“Oh my god... Qing Luan actually came down?!” the guards were shocked.
“Impossible!”
Wang Yong refused to believe it. “She must be leaving on an errand. Didn’t you see the management team accompanying her?”
But to everyone’s surprise,
Qing Luan walked right up to Qin Feng.
Then, she did something astonishing—
“Sir!”
“If you intend to visit, you should have informed me in advance. I would have personally come to greet you!”
“What?!”
Wang Yong was dumbfounded. “S-Sir?!”
Qin Feng smiled. “Qing Luan, if you don’t come down soon, I might get beaten up.”
“What’s going on?” Qing Luan was startled.
Qin Feng leisurely explained, “They won’t let me in. Your secretary even wants me to kneel and bark like a dog.”
“How dare they!”
Qing Luan’s delicate face grew cold as she slapped Wang Yong hard. “Are you blind? This gentleman is the owner of our bank!”
“Ah!”
Wang Yong was terrified.
He realized he had committed a grave blunder.
He had heard there was a mysterious owner of Wolong Bank rumored to be unbeatable in skill—but never imagined it was this man!
With a thud, Wang Yong dropped to his knees, begging desperately for mercy.
“Qing Luan, this is all a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding! If I’d known his identity, I wouldn’t dare act like this!”
“Please spare me!”
The two guards who had harassed Qin Feng also collapsed on the ground, petrified.
“You’re all fired,” Qing Luan said coldly, decisive and ruthless.
Without another glance at Wang Yong, she personally invited Qin Feng inside.
...
In the CEO’s office,
Qin Feng sat in Qing Luan’s chair, smiling warmly.
“Qing Luan, you work with such efficiency. The branch is so large and yet built in just a few days.”
Qing Luan poured tea for Qin Feng, massaging his shoulders, her face showing none of the coldness she usually displayed to outsiders.
Instead, there was a subtle hint of allure in her eyes.
“It’s all thanks to your guidance, Sir.”
“By the way... here’s the information you asked me to investigate,” she handed over a dossier.
Qin Feng opened it, finding detailed records on the Yunhai Sun family.
“Oh?”
He fixed his gaze on one point and said with a teasing tone, “No wonder the Sun family’s assets far exceed other Yunhai clans. Turns out they’re involved in many unscrupulous dealings behind the scenes?”
“Any business that makes money fast, the Suns dare to do it,” Qing Luan sneered.
“Good.”
Qin Feng closed the file and asked, “I heard you’re planning to hold an investment conference?”
Qing Luan nodded. “I’m considering investing in a promising company. Interestingly, Sun Zihang from the Sun Group often comes to the bank, trying to curry favor with lavish gifts.”
“Obviously hoping for our investment.”
“Is that so?”
A playful smile curled on Qin Feng’s lips. “Spread the word: Wolong Bank is indeed interested in investing in the Sun Group.”
“Ah? Sir...” Qing Luan hadn’t expected such a quick decision.
But seeing his inscrutable smile, she immediately understood.
There was definitely some grudge between him and the Sun family!
“Yes.”
She agreed.
She knew Qin Feng’s methods: first raise someone up, then strike them down mercilessly.
“Also, about my origins—please investigate as thoroughly as you can,” Qin Feng sighed.
If not for the many pressing matters lately, he would have handled it personally.
For now, he entrusted Qing Luan, hoping she could uncover some clues.
“Understood!”
Escorted by Qing Luan, Qin Feng leisurely left the bank.
Unexpectedly,
Not far away, chaos erupted on the street.
A Ferrari sports car seemed out of control, speeding wildly.
Passing vehicles scrambled to avoid it, causing havoc.
Horns blared incessantly.
As Qin Feng looked up, the car was nearly upon him, no chance to dodge.
Onlookers screamed in terror.
“It’s bad!”
“That young man’s about to be hit!”
“Move out of the way!!!”
“...”
“Get out of the way!!”
Inside the car, the woman panicked, shouting, “I can’t brake... move aside, please!!”
Yet,
Qin Feng stood motionless in the middle of the street, as if unaware.
“Done for!”
The woman’s face turned deathly pale, realizing a tragedy was imminent.
But just before the Ferrari was about to crash into Qin Feng,
To everyone’s astonishment—
Qin Feng casually extended a finger and lightly pressed against the car’s hood.
“Screeeech—”
The tires skidded fiercely, smoke billowing.
The out-of-control Ferrari abruptly came to a halt on the spot.
